From notes. On tap at Capone's...
Appears a dark amber with a small white head that slowly fades into a mild egg shell collar. Tiny remnants of spotty lacing are left around the glass, which droop back into the collar.
Smell is of tart berries, vanilla, & charred bananas.
Taste is of the same as the mentioned aromas with sweet, rum cake flavors coming through.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, tart, and sugary in the finish.

On tap at Capones. 2-year old, aged keg.
Poured a deeper amd hany amberish-brownish color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of dark fruits, some leatheriness, caramel, vanilla, and woody. The brett came out a little more as the glass aired out and warmed up. Tastes of dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, earlthy, and woody. Lighter alcohol in the finish. The brett was there, but more on the subtle side.

On tap at Capone's, 3/19/09.
Poured a cloudy muddy brownish amber with thin beige head. Average retention and some lacing. Smells of mango, coconut, bourbon, vanilla, brown sugar, and caramel. The mix of bourbon mixed with the hops makes for tastes of tropical fruits like pineapple, mango, and coconut, then some caramel and a slightly bittering grass and woody finish with a good amount of alcohol warmth. Medium to medium-full in body with moderate carbonation. Comes off as very tropical and unique for a barleywine. A little off at first, but as it warms up the flavors come out and becomes more drinkable with the notes of Brett and bourbon having a nice active roll. Still a little too hot to drink often, but a good sipper.

A - amber opaque with a tiny off white head.
S - Bananas, cherries, roasted caramel, butter and suger heated up. It reminds me of a dark fruit strussel! It is an incredibly pleasant and complex nose.
T & M & D - Bourbon is present on the tongue, oak woddsy flavors, caramel, a wine like tanin, and a subtle spice. It has a creamy buttery mouthfeel with a dry tanin hoppy finish. There is little carbination to this complex medium bodied brew.
