Beautiful pour into a Victory tulip glass...love those little tulips. Nice large frothy head, even though chilled to fridge temps. Held the head for a good while, but it's gone now w/ no lace.
Aroma is fascinating and fabulous...sweet but tart candy, candied fruit, citrus.
Taste is sweet with some clove and it tastes like the best Jolly Rancher candy ever. A beer lovers candy ddrink although it's not sticky sweet at all.
It's over carbed I think and feels it.
Over all, I am really looking forward to the other 18 ounces in the bottle.
Good stuff!

Bomber type bottle.

Pour is orange amber with a hard, frothy head. Very effevescent. It dissipated rather quickly. Nose of apples, barnyard and yeast. Over-ripe apples.

Carbonic feel on entry, spritzy, full maltiness. Flavors of fresh cut apples, hint of cinammon, complex yeast flavors. More of french farmhouse style. A mix of Bier de Garde and Saison. I love the look, feel and flavor of this beer. Goes in it's own direction at times, but firmly following the style still.

Very well done. I'd like more americna breweries to take up the nuance of this style which Dominion has done with the rocky, hard carbonation and yeast which provides a bit of complexity.

22 ounce bottle with a bottling date of: Feb '12
easy pour into a 22oz glass.
A - 3 fingers of rapidly forming micro bubbled head that leaves moderate lacing. Color is a hazy burnt orange giving a darker look than most Saisons.
S - strong yeasty belgian esters, pepper, and cloves with a very slight floral grassy background.
T - as with the smell the esters and pepper are strong and biting. A mild malty sweetness permeates the spicy flavors. I only taste a small amount of hops despite the recent bottling of this one, but the peppery spices give a good bittering. I would like more earthy grass flavor.
M - fairly heavy for a saison but with good carbonation. Leaves a slight tingly drying sensation throughout the mouth and throat.
D - a slow drinker that should be experienced throughout the temperature range as it does tend torwards fruity and malty when warmwer.
This might lean torwards the darker side of Saisons as it lacks the spritzy feel of the typical Saison and has a darker color and more malty feel/taste.
Overall I'm glad I gave this Dominion brew a try and would enjoy it a second time.

A- Nice rose-tinted orange with a huge head that takes forever to go down. It's almost a bit ridiculous, really. I kind of just want to drink it without having to bury my face in foam.

S- Well, at least I have plenty of time to smell it, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It has a pleasant yeasty aroma with a good dose of clove and all that other nice Belgiany stuff that I wish I could describe better.

T- A bit tart upfront with a bit of funk. Clove and earthy hops come through in the middle with some chalky yeast and a bit of a cheese-like flavor on the finish. There's a pleasant, moderate bitterness on the aftertaste.

M- Fairly light and fluffy with a good tingly carbonation. Pretty impressive for a plus-7% alcohol beer.

This is a pretty darn good domestic saison. It would be nice on a warm spring day or to accompany a light meal. It's great to see a beer of this quality from a local... err, formerly local brewery. I say give it a try if you come across it and are a fan of the style.

Happy to see this at the store the other day.

A: Pours a hazy dark orange color, rather dark for a saison, with a large, billowy, white head on top. Pretty good retention, last for most of the time it took to drink my glass. Lacing forms briefly when the beer hits the sides, but is gone rather quickly.

S: A good amount going on here, some pepper, clove, and banana, but there is a really strong floral/citrus hop presence as well. A little bit of bready malt.

T: Some more banana and a little white pepper, there is a little bit of hay/straw. The floral component in the aroma, not very present in the flavor profile. Some biscuit/bready malt comes through as well.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Slight warming from the abv, but not hot when drinking it.

O: A pretty good saison. Happy to see Dominion branching out, and look forward to what they come out with next.

22 oz dated 2/12 poured into a tulip

A- A hazy/murky orange color with a three finger white head.

S- Green apple, musty funk, cloves, pepper.

T- Tart light fruits upfront, mainly apple, cloves, some funk, some earthiness and pepper in the finish.

M- Smooth, medium body, lots of carbonation.

O- Not a bad Saison at all, definitely when it is only $5 a bottle. I will probably be picking up an other bottle to age. Love the tart apples really make this beer what it is.

Bottle: Poured a dirty light amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma of rustic malt ester and some solid Belgian floral malt is quite interesting. Taste is a good mix between some rustic ester with some floral Belgian malt and a light spicy yeast finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nicely brewed and something I quite enjoyed.

Poured this one into my crystal beer mug. The color is a very dark hazy gold and the beer built an enormous white head. For the size it did not stick around as long as I thought it would . Not much lacing either.
The smell definitely points to a lot of yeast presence, tart and earthy hops.
Tasting the beer, the strong yeast builds a very refreshing front, being met by a more fruit characters like banana, and clove in the middle. More earthy hops add bitterness towards the end.
Very interesting beer , which gets better as you go for more.

Appearance: cloudy burnt orange color. With a good white head. And a ok lace.

Smell: fruity orange, some spiciness

Taste: complexed. First it's sweet and malty then changes to a hop spicy flavor.

Mouthfeel: medium to heavy body. Medium carbonation. Pretty smooth.

Overall: I love how the flavor at the start is totally diffenert from the flavor at the end.
