Odor: Acidic Citrus, Wheat with a faint smell of banana.
Pour: Hazy Orange, Decent head that dissipates to nothing, No lace at all. Served in a tulip pint glass
Taste: Heavy Wheat taste with a faint dry citrus after taste. Light carbonation but enough that it dries out your mouth. Low hops, Light body. Not very complex, More acidic than creamy which tells me that the citrus flavor is coming from additives rather than the fermented wheat.
Mediocre beer, I don't believe this is the best hefeweizen I've ever had, but an ok sample of the style. I can't say I'm a big fan of Pyramid Brewery in general. I've had 2 of their beers today and neither were awe inspiring, just ok. For the price, I've had common domestics that I enjoyed more.

12 oz. bottle, with an enjoy by date of 08/16/2012 printed on the label. Dear god, what have I gotten myself into? I acquired this bottle as part of a mixed six pack at the local beer store. I guess I didn't look closely enough at the label. Anyway, another new beer to me from Pyramid, this time a hefeweizen, not my favorite style, but I'm going in unbiased. Label says "unfiltered wheat ale", and doesn't mention being brewed with any spice.
Poured into a Miller Lite pint glass.
A - Despite it's age, it still pours over a finger of fizzing white head that thins down to a tiny bubbly ring. Body is a light lemon orange color
S - Smell is pretty light and nonexistent. Some light husky grains, wheat, dusty malt, some appley yeast esters, lemon grass. Pretty bland, but what is there is nice. Lightly floral.
T - Taste isn't bad either. Crisp grains, wheat, lemongrass, oranges, some yeast-derived green apple fruitiness, some dry cider-esque qualities. No bubblegum malt, clove, or other spice character noted which is unusual for the style, so maybe some time in the bottle has had some effect. I can't say for sure.
M - Feel is still crisp and clean, with mild graininess and some malt stickiness lingering on the palate. Finish is semi-tart and dry.
Overall, a fairly strange beer, one that I will surely have to revisit one day when I have a much fresher bottle, Until then, it is what it is.
