Brewed only with Cascade hops and styled in the tradition of English Pale Ales, Pyramid’s Pale Ale is sweet and malty, with floral hop aromas.

From a six-pack of cans. Poured in to a pint glass.
Pours a rich gold color with a decent white head.
Smell is a sour grain aroma
Taste is a lot like the aroma, a bitter cereal flavor .
Mouthfeel is heavy for the style and a bit cloying.
Overall an OK pale ale. Pyramid brews an imperial IPA and this is a lot like a watered down version of that.

the look of this beer is very good, visually darker than your average pale ale with rich hints of amber. and amber, man oh man, that girl can twist down at the coyote ugly. my dad said to check her out and well, father knows best. this shit really is your basic pale ale, easy drinking, makes you want to fight. tastes lighter than it looks, which is great if youre into that sort of thing. anyway, i had about 6 of these an afterwards i got a little fuzzy but got home ok and next thing i know im balls deep in a woman that looks a bit like rick moranis. i was surprised but still managed to get off. oh the head was great, and it was fine on the beer too nice lacing or whatever

12 oz. can:
Pours hazed golden. A creamy lasting white head leaves lacing.
The smell is of grain/bread with light floral hops.
The taste is of grainy sweetness with a floral/slightly citric hop touch in the finish.
Light-bodied, a bit watery. Smooth.
A sweeter-leaning (but with some hop balance), basic pale ale that is easy enough to drink.

Poured 12 oz can into standard pint glass. Golden amber in color, clear, with a thin, bubbly head. Moderate lacing. The smell is malt, rustic bread, noble hops. The flavor is a bit like a Pilsner to me. It's light and malty, only a bit of hops bitterness in the finish. Watery mouthfeel, not really that crisp or flavorful. I guess if it was free at a party I wouldn't be fine with drinking it. Not a repeat beer for me though.

Clear golden orange with one finger of long lasting white head. Very fine dense lacing.
Smell is bready malts and floral hops.
Taste is bready malts some caramel fruity hop bitterness and a bit of hop oil pine.
Mouthfeel is almost medium body with fair carbonation. Finish is medium dry and bitter.
Overall a fine Pale Ale. I was surprised how enjoyable this beer was.

Pretty drinkable ale without much fuss. Would make a decent session ale. The smell is a tad skunky, yeasty, and crackery, without much hops aroma. Taste is mild and balanced, totally drinkable and not offensive. Unsalted crackers with butter, a nice orange-like hoppy aftertaste that doesn't do much but makes itself known.
In fact, the more of this I drink, the more it grows on me. It doesn't try to be the best, it would appeal to many, and that's what makes it better than ok.

This is the nuttiest Pale Ale I've ever tasted. A light and mellow brew with a malty flavor. Fruity hops with some resiny notes.
Handsome orangey amber brew with a modest foam in the Ciney snifter. Lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Bitter finish so there's no mistaking this as anything but a Pale Ale. Some of the browned biscuit taste, and even a little English-tasting.
I seem to have overlooked this old standard. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Fred Meyer in Burlington, WA.
