A golden nectar with a striking floral aroma, Thunderhead holds a harmonious balance between its bold hop bitterness and subtle malt background.

A new find at the local liquor stop, reasonably priced at about $7 a sixer.
Emerges from the bottle a prototypical IPA, just-past-macro gold. Smallish head, but impressive incremental lace rings.
Nose is zingy, fresh, appealing. Its easy to say 'grapefruit' with every single IPA but this is one of the first i've noticed that actually reminds me of paring a grapefruit. Fresh peeled orange.
But the flavor, my god the flavor - what an abomination. This is a beer that would make people who have never had IPA think that the style is poison. Pithy, astringent bitterness that bites at the tongue completely lacking any sweetness. Like putting your tongue on your car's battery. A few hints of a buttery malt character at room temperature.
Thin, thin, thin mouthfeel. Like chilled hop-tea.
Completely undrinkable.

Copper filtered with lots of really fine bubbles and a huge 4 finger, creamy, yellowish head.
Smells of skunk, malts, a hint of citrus and pine.
Tastes of creme brulee, dull bitter hops, and burnt pineapple candy.
Medium to light body with lots of fine bubbled carbonation.
I got this in Medford, OR, and am drinking it in Redding, Jan 3rd, 2019. Sort of English IPA like.

Thanks, Sandeep!
A clear copper with a dense, off white head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is a blend of citrus and a little pine with some caramel malt present. Moderately floral as well. The palate opens moderately bitter with grapefruit, pine and some citrus bitterness followed by a mild sweetness. Floral notes are present on the mid palate. Mildly fruity on the finish, this beer is moderately carbonated and has a pleasant bitterness. Solid stuff.

From the bottle, it pours a clear amber with a nice head that dissipates slowly and leaves lacing. Some hop aroma in the nose. The mouth gets a slight West Coast IPA shot of bitterness, not overwhelming, not a "Thunderhead".

This is an average tasting IPA. Not a lot of character. Kind of bland and indescript.

Mild orange appearance, 1/3" white head. Aroma his some C hop aromas.
Taste was a nice surprise from Pyramid, often a purveyor of the mundane. Nice hop vegetal flavor, grapefruit, pine, nice woodsy presence, nice bitterness, not grating. Stays a dry body but a resolute malt presence.
Affordable, available, one of pyramid's better offerings.
