Drinkable but only if its my last choice for an IPA.

Little too sweet for my taste, reminds me a lot of a Hefe, has a strong fruity flavor that smacks you in the nostrils then lays on your tounge like a fresh slice of peach would. Then out of nowhere as you are imagining it to continue this slight bit of bitterness from the hops jumps in and takes you for a ride. really a crazy flavor train with this beer, which if thats your thing then this is the beer for you, But if you like IPAs that are well balanced and full of true hoppyness, and flow from flavor to flavor seamlessly then look elsewhere.

Fruity to start and fruity to finish- few other brewers embrace and celebrate the floral and fruity character of ale like Pyramid brewers. Their hop-forward beers blur the lines between hop dominance and luxurious fruit esters, an no beer portrays that better than Outburst IPA.

Its bright golden-orange pour casts the slimmest of hazes below a creamy white froth. Pink grapefruit and orange marmalade aromas weave in and out of a candied malt base of caramel and simple syrup before the ale really gets going.

Its middle blossoms with bold citrus and tropical hop tastes- notions of ripe grapefruit, freshly zested oranges, passionfruit and apricot abound, carrying with them the floral and herbal character of their leaf, stem and pith. Its sweeter-than-usual undertow is lightly jammy and sticky to balance the brunt of hops in a moderate chord.

And its that malty-sweet balance that reigns in the bite of hop bitterness, keeping the big IPA perhaps more even-keel than most. Its substantial warmth hides nicely tucked behind spicy hops and is soothed by lingering fruity sweetness.
