Bottle: Poured a bright yellow/orangey color ale with a nice thick white foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma of citrus notes is quite nice with some residual sugar notes noticeable. Taste is also dominated by citrus notes with fresh floral notes that are somewhat offset by too much residual sugar. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice IIPA but I would say that there is too much residual sugar for my own personal taste.

Maybe I have a super old bottle (no date) but this is awful. Almost no hop presence whatsoever, just an attack of malt sweetness. Almost felt like like I was drinking a barley wine or something. Terrible representation of the style in my opinion. I will give this a shot however if I can find a bottle with a fresh date on it.

Pours a amber color with a thick head. A smooth IPA that is dry-hopped and it's named incorrectly. I didn't find too much of an outburst, but hoppy enough to make it an IPA. The good news for me is 8.3 on the richter scale and that means a few will do.

Amber colour, 2 fingers of white head, good lace. Smell is citrusy hops and sweet caramel, some toasted bread, fuzzy peaches and orange slices, malt is pretty big on the nose. Taste is bitter upfront, hoppy with an equal amount of malt, sweet up front but drying in the finish, muddy citrus. Light carbonation, medium body. Pretty average stuff, nothing I dont think I would revisit though.

Pours a clear amber with ample head and decent retention. Aroma is hoppy with ample citrus and floral notes. Taste follows with generous hops and light malty background. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with good balance between bitter and sweet. Overall a fine beer.

Enjoy by 6/10/14 (!) at 40 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma weak citrus and malt.
Head average (3cm), white, creamy, slowly diminishing to an irregular layer between 2 and 5 mm thick.
Lacing good – thick, nearly complete rings with small to medium bubbles.
Body medium orange, slight haze.
Flavor – hopishness is probably dropping off but a bitter citrus presence is still evident. Also, some of the malt backbone is coming through. No alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, oily, lively carbonation.

We rarely see Pyramid stuff around here, so I grabbed the last bottle they had, despite of the (barely readable in the store) date. It actually is holding up rather well, although it seems more of a pale ale than an IPA – more like a Brit IPA than an American IPA.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a conical pint glass.

A - Beautiful, crystal clear copper with a short, but impressively frothy head that leaves lace to make a Victorian debutante hate you. This is a great looking ale!

S - Hops. Lots of hops. A twinge of alcohol.

T - The malt taste that is there is roasty and crystal. Lots of "hoppy goodness" with an earthy, herbal taste. The alcohol in the nose is not present on the tongue. The malts come out a bit more on warming up.

M - Full and smooth. Dry at the back.

O - This was really a great beer. It's gorgeous for starters. I actually like this better than Samuel Smith's IPA. I prefer this style at cellar temp or just a bit above and this one is no exception. I wish it had a bit less alcohol as this is a style I like to slay a few of after sweaty yard work.
