On tap at Mammoser's in Hamburg,NY.Poured into a standard pint glass a clear lighter copper color with 1/2 finger white head that left a broken ring of lace as it settled.Alot of caramel in the nose with some underlying toastiness,as with many American versions of the style caramel sweetness dominates. The caramel is pretty big on the palate but maybe just a little more subdued than alot of the before mentioned American versions, there is a grainy and toasted element to the flavors of the beer as well. Not to complex and a tad sweet but I have had worse O-fest beers than this, not something to seek out but I wouldn't pass it up either.

Big off white heads dies down to a thin lacing above an almost clear amber copper colored beer with a bunch of sediment hanging with in.

A lightly roasted caramel malt accented with a slight sour grain and citrus hops aroma.

Sweet caramelized grain malts with some light sour hops tagging along in the taste of this Oktoberfest.

A dry aftertaste with some of the sweet caramel grain malts sneaking in and staying around on this medium bodied beer.

A decent Oktoberfest beer but not quite enough there, I would like the taste within this beer to be a little bolder and fuller, then this would be a real winner.

12 oz. bottle, I'm glad Pyramid ditched those stupid sport labels, going back to basics,

A: Pours amber with a mild white head. Poor head retention, no lace. Good enough colour.

S: Toffee, cracked barley, cereal.

T: Nice taste of Munich malt and cereal. Bit of cloying sugar. Heavily malt oriented.

M: Medium-bodied, very frothy, creamy feel.

O: It's rare enough to find a new Oktoberfest beer in the Southland so I picked this up. The flavours are good and sometimes Pyramid can be found for $4.99/6er so this could be a great play at that price.

Picked up the Pyramid Autumn 12 pack tonight at the 16th st Albertsons... on sale this was $12... not bad!! Poured into my slim tulip... thin white head.. the brew is clear orange.

the nose is toasty fairly clean maltiness.. some minor spicy hopiness...

Flavor is about the same... toasty/slightly nutty malt is the only real player.. just enough hoppiness to make things come around to balanced..

seems pretty ordinary... but sometimes ordinary is great when it is cheap.

This brew is NEVER going to play on the same field as the Continental examples... but it is pretty okay for what it is.... Don't Hate.

I bought a bomber of Pyramid Oktoberfest in a grocery store. Poured in to my Odessa Deutsches Fest mug.

Pours a deep copper/bromze color, clear with a creamy off-white head.

Smell is faint and generally non-descript. A faint sweet malt aroma perhaps.

The taste is pretty good, a sweet malt and vegetable flavor. perhaps a hint of pumpkin or squash on the flavor. Mild bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly cloying. All in keeping with the style.

Overall a drinkable autumn lager. I think there are better Oktoberfests out there, but I would not turn this down.

12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Sept. 9, 2012 (purchased at Vons in Mission Gorge (San Diego, Calif.) for a variety 12-pack price of $14.99 on Sept. 9, 2012). Finger of head. Poured a dark caramel, amber with off-white head. Very bubbly. Retention was frothy on the top, none on the sides.

Smelled roasty nuts, lots of malts, toffee, slight caramel and slight chocolate.

Taste wasn’t what I thought it was going to be like. Got smoky ash tray, fire, smoother than I thought, toffee, light roasted nuts. It bit plain at the end.

Medium body. Creamy texture. Above average carbonation. Long, smooth finish.

Went back and forth on this beer, but ended up settling on these ratings. Better than the Sam Adams Octoberfest I’ve had in the past.

09/09/2014 update: Has nobody tasted this yet this fall? I was again surprised how flavorful and quaffable this is. Just malty enough with a hint of sweet caramel and a brambly aftertaste. $3.19 fo 22 oz at the Fred Meyer supermarket. Such a deal!
----------

Lovely dark amber in the narrow Crooked Line tulip. Fine, creamy carbonation with nice lacing down the glass. A pleasant woodsy aroma. Sudsy with a full mouthfeel.

Caramel taste but cut with a bitter flavor. Bitter and tangy from the start, which counters the malty sweetness. Taste bigger and richer to go with the fairtly robust alcohol. Bitterness all the way through the flavors, but not at all the flowery IPA sort. More earthy and woody.

Outstanding example of this often-insipid style. From the 12 oz bottle bought at the new Ralph's supermarket in San Clemente, which has quite a few 12 oz singles.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Enjoy by 120112.

A: Pours a clear dark copper ruby with a 1 finger off white head. Fizzles away after a minute. A little bit of visible carbonation. No lacing.

S: A little bit of dark fruit from the malt. Slight carmel.

T: Pretty nice malt forward taste. Hits all sides of your taste buds. A smooth carmel characteristic. Pretty well balanced out with hops at the end.

M: Medium bodied with a slightly sticky feel. Low carbonation

Overall not a bad new oktoberfest. Lacks a little oomph but pulls through in taste.

First brew from Pyramid, seems to finally have invaded MA.

A- Pint glass pour with a ruby red body and a light tan head. Retention is good but it all falls dramatically to a small ring and very thin cloud. Just a few spots of lace on the glass.

S- A simple mix of buttery caramel malts, nutty hints and some dark fruit. Takes a lot of effort to pick up.

T- A nutty, spiced raisin presence fills the palate with some of the aforementioned caramel and buttery hints. Some Euro hops, a bit spicy and herbal/floral.

MF- Right in the middle of watery and creamy, the body is of light-moderate thickness. Carbonation level is moderate and there is a decent bitterness.

Average Marzen.

Bought a single at HEB in Round Rock.

Dark abmer/honey pour in my 512 pint glass. Decent head, but faded pretty quickly. Specks of lacing and a very thin off white head remained for duration.

Clean malty scent...a bit of carmel and spice...maybe nutmeg or cinnamon...a little faded though.

Malt is certainly pronounced on the taste...right in front. Crisp, clean, toasty caramel, lightly hopped for balance...but a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Certainly does not throw off the feel though. This one is uber smooth...goes down easy. I also like the extra kick of booze in this one.

Pyramid did an admirable job with this Marzen...one of their better brews.

Pours a nice slightly hazy dark golden amber color, nice carbonation, with a nice little fizzy off-white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with a slight touch of hops, slight touch of citrus, and caramel. The taste is malty, slightly hoppy, with some citrus/caramel notes. Medium body, nice crisp feel. Overall, a pretty tasty brew, I think it's ABV is alittle high for a Marzen, but...
