From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 13-159-08. Sampled on January 22, 2013.

It pours a golden yellow color with no head and zero lacing. It looks kind of flat because of that.

The aroma really smells like a locally brewed adjunct with barley malts, grains, and a light hop note thrown in.

The body was light to medium but quite creamy in texture.

The taste is full of grainy malts but a slight hop bite at the end that balances it out pretty well. It fits the adjunct lager bill and is slightly better than some.

Pride of the South. Good alternative to Budweiser. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Low aroma of grain and wheat, some cereal. Smooth taste, sweeter grain and corn, without the metal. This beer does not try to be something it is not. Cold, refreshing, and light.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clear amber/golden color with much more depth and haze than most adjunct lagers. Nose is similar to a bmc beer with a touch of honey to it.

Taste is quite refreshing and crisp with a light note of honey. It's very easy drinking and smooth with a full mouthfeel. Overall a good beer with givig a shot.

Slightly hazy medium straw color with golden hues. Head is bright white with short retention.

Malt, rice, very light citrus, cabbage and a mild yeastiness.

Round soft maltiness, creamed corn with hops being noticably absent.

Medium bodied and creamy mouthfeel that somehow manages to be watery around the edges. Collapses on the finish.

After a less than stellar review, I have to say that it fits in with its style. I have had worse.

Appearance: No head at all, looks like a soft drink. Pale yellow colour.

Smell: Only a very faint smell, of hops I think

Taste: Tangy and somewhat unpleasant. Sharpness at the back of the mouth, doesn't really even taste like beer.

Mouthfeel: Flat and insipid

Drinkability: NothIng about this drink would encourage me to have another bottle. I'm not even sure if I want to finish this one.

Out of a bottle at NCED/Marriot bar in Norman, Oklahoma...

Gold color with a foamy adjunct head. Some sense of berries in the mostly sweetish aroma. Lacks overcarbonation -- an OK thing to me but helps stress a slightly woody corn husk flavor in the malts. Hopping is poor to non-existent. The aftertaste is sweetly cloying and unpleasant. Aside from the mouthfeel, there's nothing to recommend this brew over any macro I've run across.

Really, really bad beer, evil infact. Really uninteresting stuff, and a bit edgy in its taste which doesn't help the beers cause.

Clear golden colored beer rests below a small white head that quickly died into a thin lacing.

A light citrus hops aroma with a slight sourness mixed with a even lighter bready maltiness.

The taste was light and lightly dry and tasted of light hops on the citrus side and a very light maltiness that bordered on bready and grainy.

A medium body and lightly dry aftertaste.

This beer seems to me to be a model for average, seemed like everything about it was average at best or maybe average at worst.

good ole cheapo southern beer. In New Orleans three years ago a pitcher of dixie in a bar cost 3 bucks. it costs 6 bucks for a six pack around here. what?!

12oz bottle, at Pizza Brew in Calgary.

This beer pours a somewhat hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with one finger of weakly foamy, and mostly bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a few specks of islet lace around the glass as it quickly burns off.

It smells of rancid butter, turned corn mush, paint thinner, and little else. The taste is musty corn and rice cakes, diacetyl up the yin yang, stale yeast, a touch of plastic phenols, and a dry, non-hop oriented mustiness.

The bubbles are pretty low-key, barely registering on any level, the body medium-light in weight, and way more pithy than smooth. It finishes semi-sweet, the corniness sort of apologetic, but hardly making up for the lingering musty plastic notes.

Another Minhas contract brew, where they seemingly just rename one (I'm not about to investigate which) of their large stable of skanky adjunct lagers. This time, it appears to be one whose corners are thoroughly and duly ravaged.

12oz bottle, part of a 6'er for some light afternoon refreshment in a recent visit to NO. served in a clear plastic cup!

A - briefly held half inch of loose sudsy foam quickly falls to about nothing, the beer is crystal clear and very light golden in color.

S - slightly roasted grains, corn and veggies...maybe the tiniest bit of grassy hops, maybe not.

T - clean grains and corn heavy, nice dryness adds some character along with a bit of crackery like malts and a single blade of wet grass hops. decent for the style.

M - super light body and missing a bit of carbonation...

D - quite refreshing, especially in the heat. better than a number of other AAL's we had over the weekend.

A - Golden clear brew a shade deeper than your standard BMC. A two finger head looks fairly thick, and sticks around for a few minutes before receding to a nice foamy cap.

S - Yeasty sweet round soapy smell. In a weird way, this smells like the yeast strain in Orval, but far less intricate. Not bad, not bad.

T - Soapy, but not in a bad way. It's not hoppy or malty, but corny and sweet in a very round and mellow way. Odd, but not bad at all.

M - Light bodied and lightly carbonated with a soft and mellow mouthfeel.

D - Not bad, not bad. Not good...but not bad.

Clear golden, with a fizzy white head. Lace is thin and weak.

Aroma is malty, grainy, and lager-like. Very average.

Tastes sweet -- very much like a thin adjunct character. As with other beers brewed by Minhas (as this apparently was contracted brewed by), this one's an unbalanced mess that lacks complexity and wallops the taste buds with heavy, syrupy sweet malts. Ugh.

As near to a drainpour as I've had in some time.

Clear, straw golden in color but with a brass cast. Unusual - light, but with a darkish tint? The head is white, creamy, and leaves some good lace. The aroma is of grainy malt, with what I tend to think of as an "adjunct" note, and some vegetal character. The vegetal is not real bad, but definitely not good either! The body is light-medium with a very fine, and gentle carbonation giving it a very soft and smooth mouthfeel. The flavor definitely expresses a good use of adjunct with a thin grainy - almost husky - maltiness that is sweet more out of lacking bitterness than residual sugars. The alcohol is noticeable, even in such a light beer - very odd It finishes lightly sweet with a lingering grainy/husky character that's somewhat astringent. Although it does have it's own unique character, this is not a well brewed beer and I'd imagine that even if it's sold at a price point a better beer can be had for less.
