A- This pours with a nice, well retaining, dense foamy layer over the brew....the head doesn't waver over time very much...nothing huge to begin with and nothing really lost either. The color of the brew is a reasonably clear milk chocolate brown, with tinges of red and/or orange. There appears to be good lacing in this one, with nice sized, inter-connecting clumps of foam clinging to the glass. There also looks to be lots of small carbonation bubbles lumbering to the top of the brew.

S- This has a nice rich malty aroma overall. Broken down, there is hints of chocolate, and a prominent yeasty bread smell, which is quite enticing! There is some assorted dark fruits noted as well, but nothing major as well as nothing in particular. There is no hop presence either in my opinion.

T- This is a flavorful lager I have to say, with lots of deep tasting character on the palate. Again, the dark malt sweetness is upfront, bringing with it a milk chocolate flavor as well that is quite delicious! There is also hints of the aforementioned bread/yeast quality to give it a certain goodness. Hops are noticed on the finish but are muted at best.

M- Medium bodied and with a creamy, smooth feel on the palate. The carbonation is really fine and light, allowing me to get a good grasp of all the rich flavors.

O- This is a very good beer! Light enough as to not be too cloying, yet with lots of flavor and well balanced at that! The alcohol is hidden well and this makes a good brew on it's own or with food. I highly recommend this one, and say this is another great job by the Dixie Brewing Co.

12oz bottle poured into a pils glass
A; Dark orange with a solid one-finger head
S: Malty; a whole mixture of grains, some toasted some not. A hint of caramel
T: Caramel, malt, grain, a touch sweet
M: Light to medium bodied
O: Better than many beers that prominently state lager (not to be at all biased against lagers) but nothing memorable stands out

Black. I think I know what that means. Blackish red, maybe.

I did not have high hopes for this brew and it still let me down. Everything is wrong, yet I would still recommend it for a taste, but be prepared for disappointment.

It pours a blackish red with little head. The aroma is a funky sweet thing with a bit of yeasty goodness. The taste is similarly a funky sweet lager mess. It definitely has a big lager taste, like it were boozy, but it is not. The aftertaste is funky too.

A lager should move and hold well, but this seems to have gone bad, or it was always funky. Bob - avoid this!!
