Appearance: Dark amber/brown, cloudy, 2 fingers of cream colored head.
Aroma: Banana bread, cloves, caramel, floral notes, very subtle chocolate malts.
Flavour: Rich and malty, banana bread flavour, slight cloves and some caramel sweetness, bready undertones, alcohol is present.
Mouthfeel: Full body, medium carbonation, rich, smooth, slightly bitter finish, noticeable alcohol warming.
Ingredients: Wheat, Munich and Crystal Malts, German Hefeweizen Yeast
Comments: Big Dunkel at 8% ABV and 25 IBU. Banana bread flavours dominate this one, very malty, but you do get some floral hop notes mixed in there, based on the aroma. Many layers of flavor unravel as the beer warms up, best at 8-10c in a tulip glass. Very good Dunkel!

Murky oxblood with fast-fading tan film. 3.5
Rough vinegary nose with some rum raisin. 3.25
Treacle cake, port, clovey spice, and slight grassy hops. 3.5
Earthy spice end and minty linger.
Almost medium, hot, and a bit thin. 3.5
Mislabeled - plays out like a dunkelbock, not a dunkelweizen - missing all the banana esters. Not very bready either, for the “dunkel” bit. Hot raisin and not much else. Not good. 3.5

A bit on the thin side...Head is full four-finger straw colored foamy head. Brew is cloudy deep red-brown. Poor retention and moderate lacing.
Clove-y, spicy, banana, tons of esters. A touch on the thin side, but still nice.
A smooth-wet initial blast. Tons of caramel and a touch of banana. Spices begin to set in and slowly takeover and leave you with an awkward goodbye...full of strange (slightly rubbery) bitterness and earthy dryness. Carbonation is high and well placed. Sweetness is direct, sharp, and to the point; nothing lingers. Rounded flavors could add complexity and a bit of more developed flavors.
Overall, a nice beer that's appropriate. It's nearly where it should be, needs just a bit of tweaking to become a front-runner for the style. Solid and definitely recommended.

A: Dark amber, slightly opaque, 2 fingers of cream colored head
S: Banana bread, cloves, caramel, floral notes, very subtle chocolate malts
T: Rich and malty, banana bread flavour, slight cloves and some caramel sweetness, bready undertones, alcohol is present
M: Medium body, good carbonation, rich, fairly smooth, slightly bitter finish, noticeable alcohol warming
O: Banana bread flavours dominate this one, very malty, but you do get some floral hop notes mixed in there, based on the aroma, a little too sweet, but I suppose that goes with the style and does match well with the aroma and flavour profile - not the best dunkel out there, but worthy of trying

650 ml bottle to share, something new for Mt. Begbie, looking forward to it.
This beer pours a slightly hazy, dark brown, with golden high lights. Tight creamy bubbles, beige head, fades to a thick ring, chunky lace.
Smells of some light yeast, banana, clove, wheat.
The taste is on the sweet side, toasted wheat, banana, spicy pepper and clove.
The carbonation is low, the body is medium, smooth, slightly sweet finish. 8% alcohol is masked well.
A really good dunkelweizen, very drinkable.

A - fully hazy swampy purple brown, thumb of tan head retained at a thin cover, some lacing
S - big on fresh dark fruits, slightly medicine like aroma, light toffee, mild chocolate and grains
T - plumb and mineral quality up front, grainy with some toffee and a sweet alcohol hint to finish
M - creamy smooth carbonation, sticky sweet with a touch of drying alcohol and a minerally coating finish
O - a solid effort with the alcohol very well integrated and hidden, not oustanding for the style but still a tasty beverage worth a seasonal purchase

MtBegbie's "Bob's Your Dunkel" @ 8.0% served cold a 650 ml bottle into a weizen glass
A-poured a deep chocolate brown with a good cream head that lingers leaving lacing along the glass
S-banana bread , cloves , malty munich
T-deep malty/yeasty flavor , good clean taste for an un-filtered beer , nice and warm
MF-getting a warm feeling as more beer is tasted , medium body , smooth with clean finish
Ov-glad I got my hands on one , will seek this beer out next winter , very drinkable
cheers LampertLand

Appearance - Pours a rich dark brown with 1/2 finger width of cream coloured head.
Smell - Spices (very strong clove, nutmeg), hint of light chocolate.
Taste - The spicy and chocolatey notes (picked up in the aroma) translate well and are nicely balanced in this brew. Nice warming flavours.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall smoothness.
Overall - A good representation of a dunkel by Mt. Begbie. The smell is overpowered by clove and could use some improvement, however this strong aroma does not translate as overpowering in the taste. Well balanced flavourful dunkel and worth a try.

Bought a pair of 650 mL bottles while passing through Chilliwack.
It pours with a light-beige/brown creamy head that leaves some lacing on the glass. The body is (dark) brown and cloudy.
It has a fresh smell with fruit bouquet, especially candied bananas. I'm not good at picking out many spices, but I think I sense black pepper in there.
The candied banana come out in the taste which is dominated by overly ripe fruits and big malt. I don't get any chocolate in it, but what I do taste is a light smokiness.
It has medium body and carbonation and not much alcohol taste considering it is 8%. Overall, I find it sweet but not over-powering so. It reminds me of brandy.

650mL bottle poured into a glass
Pours a murky chocolate brown colour... Looks like pureed chocolate. No head at all... The bottle is more interesting to look at
Smells kind of like it looks, like chocolate with malts and a touch of espresso
Flavour is dominated by coffee and chocolate. It is very sweet and the truckloads of sweet malt completely mask the alcohol... Impressive
Mouthfeel is ok... Barely carbonated at all but that's suitable for the style
Overall a decent brew, considering I bought it because it has a funny label. I don't think I'll get this again... Too sweet for my taste
