Large production facility with brewpub in industrial park in Miramar area. Spacious taproom with U-shaped bar to the left of the entrance. Also plenty of tables about the room, and a dining area to the right. 20 plus beers on tap. Professional service. I did not try the food.

Only last year have we found ourselves at (Miramar) Ballast Point brewing. Outside it looks like a strip mall. Inside it is expansive, with massive indoor and outdoor seating. You can pack the people in this place. The beer offerings are special. Many beer menu items being barrel aged, smoked, or unusual drinks that you have never tried before. Parking can be an issue. Get here early (even on weekdays), and you will not have to walk a half-mile. After working hours, it fills up FAST. Food is fantastic for a brewery. Absolutely some of the tastiest BBQ (kind of like Texas BBQ) we have tried at any brewing location. Service has been excellent! (especially for a brewing location!) It is going to be a bit expensive to some people. But if you can put that aside, then you will have a great time! Perfect place for a large gathering of friends (or meal after softball game, etc). They can handle it, perfectly. Very good food, service and beers. All you can ask for really.

Ballast Point Miramar is the place to go for date night. Wonderful layout and lighting make this place very inviting. I opted for dinner and beer pairing option, 3 different beers paired with the three courses. I must say the food was above average tasty and great portions. The beers that were paired with them however were not to my liking at all. I would have loved some classic sculpin or calico but was given some experimental beers that I felt did not only clash with the food but also were just plain nasty. My recommendation for people who go is to definitely be open to trying some of their new experimental beers but get at least one classic in case you don't like the others. Overall a fine experience and would go back.

Went for dinner and beers on a Monday night. Was still pretty full, but was able to park (apparently this is a major issue) and get seated without delay. Food was good, and a lot cheaper than at Stone. The place itself is pretty new, and had a very cool and relaxed feel. I was pleasantly surprised by the large beer selection. In addition to what you would expect (the regular beers) there were a dozen or so experimental beers, 6 or 7 Victory at Sea variants, and some other options I didn't expect. Probably 40 or so Ballast Point beers.

My wife and I stopped in early afternoon on a Thursday in September and it was not very busy. Ordered at the bar (tried the Commodore Stout (with Cinnamon & Raisin) after talking to a very knowledgeable and friendly BT. Moved to a comfortable sofa seating area, sat back and enjoyed the experience very much.

This place is easy to find especially with the large Ballast Point labelled tanks outside the facility. Its in an industrial park, and when we pulled into the parking lot I noticed several people hanging outside - which meant there was a wait for tables. Walking in the place was loud and crowded and fortunately a few folks were leaving the bar so we grabbed the seats. There is an electronic beer list above the bar, and it had no less than 40 Ballast Point beers, some of them were labelled R&D. Prices were reasonable from $5-7 a pint, and the tasters were $2 each.

The few beers we had were all super fresh and tasty. Service was decent despite the large crowds. The vibe was wonderful as the crowd was happy. There is a gift shop here too. If visiting San Diego, this is a must stop.

Not sure if you can tell, but I absolutely loved this place! Mitchell gave us a tour that was incredible. The beers were great and I don't think I've had crispier fries ever! We were there during a Chargers game and it was quite full. The hamburger was spot on and service was attentive.

I was not particularly looking forward to a visit to Ballast Point nor was it on my radar as a "must do." I was wrong! This is as beautiful a place as you can get for a brewery and well worth a trip.

Location/facilities are first class.

The service is absolutely beyond reproach.

Beer selection is fantastic with some Ballast Point offerings that are crazy creative and wonderful to taste.

Food is really good.

All in all, a great beer experience with some really good beer people.
