Big thanks to Morgan for this one!

A: Pours a hazy peach color with a massive 2.5 finger white head. Very foamy with great retention and tons of lacing. The color is kind of light though.

S: Some pepper spice, cloves, banana, some faint cigar/cigarette smoke too. The smoke might be the funky just being a little strange, but once I got a whiff of it I couldn't shake it.

T: Bready flavor with a definite yeasty component. Light spice, more pepper and a little clove. Faint banana. Very bready/doughy.

M: Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Was hoping for some tartness, but I really don't get any.

O: Had built this one up a little bit in my head based on the description and was hoping for more from the lacto, but really couldn't tell it was there.

Appearance - Pours a hazy, pale straw yellow with a white, pillowy 3 finger head. Great retention, resulting in a firm layer of ever-present suds across the surface. Lacing is spotty/streaky with fair stick.

Smell - Bright, aromatic notes of lemony citrus, banana and spice. An undertone of funk rounds out the aroma.

Taste - Mellow notes of banana, moderate funk and clove, complimented by a light but crisp citrus hop twang. Finishes with a good balance of all flavor, and a near hidden touch of pith bitterness once warmed.

Mouthfeel - Interesting in it's light-bodied feel, and its whipped cream-like texture. Fair tingle from the carbonation. Goes down smooth and easy.

Overall - A gem from Mammoth. A nice, easy drinker with just enough complexity to keep it interesting. Saisons vary wildly in flavor profile; expect this one to drink close to a hefeweizen.

Mammoth brewing Wild Sierra Mountain farmhouse ale

A- pour produced a 1 finger white head  resting on a light yellow/golden body. The beer is almost watery looking. One of the lightest colored beers I've seen besides bud light and other such "light" beers. Leaves a little lacing. 3.5

S- white pepper, clove, bannana, slight funk, grain. Good smell but very light. 3.5

T- this is an enjoyable farmhouse ale, but just a little watered down tasting. Taste follows the nose with clove, bannana, white pepper, grain, doughy yeast taste, and a little lemon. 3.5

M- great mouthfeel. Near perfect body (slightly heavy for a farmhouse ale, but I like this) and great carbonation level. 4.5

O- a good beer, but could use a little work to be better. They are on the right track with this one though. 3.5

22 ounce bottle poured in a curved pint glass.
Appearance: Cloudy bamboo with a persistent, thin cap of foam. The haze clears at the beer nears room temperature.
Smell: The second I cracked the crown, I was assaulted with the powerful smell of unbaked bread. That faded rather quickly and left an aroma of clove and pine needles.
Taste: Super-dry. I love how dry it is. The rye and pilsner malt stand out, followed by an light orange peel flavor. Clove, as I would expect in a saison, and maybe a little pineapple.
Mouthfeel: Light body, high carbonation.
Overall: This is the perfect lawnmower beer, which is exactly what I used it for. Fresh cut grass, dirt underneath my fingernails, hot Southern California sun, and this beer composing the soundtrack. I love Mammoth Brewing, and this beer is a beau tifulcompliment to their exceptional line-up. Well done.

Bottle I brought to share at Skuter's tasting.

Pours a hazy gold with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, earth, spice, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, earth, spice, and chalk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice and earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with lots of earth forward aromas and flavors.

22oz bottle from Curry Village store.

Pours hazy gold with an inch-plus head of white. A few streaks of lacing and a partial skim coat for the duration.

Aromatics lead off with spice-dusted wheat and a hint of lemon. Lightly funky with a hint of barnyard brett. Cloves, bubblegum, apples, and wet hay.

Light bodied with a crisp, soft mouthfeel. A bit creamy.

Bananas and cloves start the palate with doughy yeast quickly following through. Bubblegum and earthy spice follow through.

Finishes dry with hints of pineapple, honey-drizzled biscuits, and clove-dusted bananas.

Nice job on this one from Mammoth, a nice take on a Saison and I think the brett in this one will step forward with some time in the cellar. Definitely needs more carbonation to do the style and beer justice.
