Presentation: 22oz big glass off tap.

Appearance: Cloudy with a medium head retention. Sometimes served with a lemon (optional). Although I don't usually prefer lemon with my beer this one does well with it particularly in summer.

Smell: A slightly more hop smell than most wheats. Ever so slightly buttery.

Taste: A bit of dryness is overwhelmed by a thick wave of Kansas wheat. More full-bodied than one might expect. Front and back are almost identical, stays consistent through whole drink. Finishes strong with the hops being the main after taste with wet but grainy wheat ending out.

Feel: Great mouthfeel. Full and consistent. Head plays well into overall mouthfeel.

Drinkability: As this a fairly cloudy wheat, I like to stay under 3 22oz. glasses.

NOTE: Although this is my home town brewery, I promise to be bi-partisan.

Tasted on 12/20/2005. This is a very easy to drink cloudy american wheat beer. Pale yellow and hazy, served with a lemon (lemon was discarded). Head was thin (lemon's fault, I presume) but produced a nice lacing effect. Good strong carbonation. The beer had a slight buttery aroma, suggesting a diacetyl problem, however, I was not put off by it at all. It made what would ordinarily be a boring beer quite interesting. Flavor is very grainy but somehow it works here. I suspect that they used unmalted wheat (technically, an adjunct according to the Germans) as does Boulevard Wheat. Finishes dry and with a briskness that can be called "wheaty". It is not a worldbeater, but this beer satisfies.

A - Poured a slightly hazy, golden yellow color with a small, but long lasting, white head of bubbly foam. It left some soapy residue on the glass.

S - It smelled of wheat, lemon and orange. There were mild floral notes.

T - Nice wheat flavor with some subtle spiciness. Good citrus flavor of orange peel and lemon.

M - It was crisp, sharp and somewhat dry. A light bodied, easy drnking beer.

D - This is a nice wheat ale. Great on a hot Kansas day.
