Appearance: Pours a clear, dark copper body with a thin, off-white head. Splotchy lacing on the way down.
Smell: Altogether meager aroma smelling faintly of grains, stale citrus, and one lone drop of caramel.
Taste: Pale, grainy maltiness with no more than the vaguest hints of caramel and toast. Just a tad bit tangy. Very mild spicy, citrusy hops with a fairly restrained bitterness. Short, crisp finish that's disturbingly devoid of flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium, somewhat fizzy carbonation.
Drinkability: You could cheer it on for being refreshing, but this is due to it being bland and watery, so there's no need to break out the kazoos and colorful confetti just yet. Just as Shiner Bock does not exemplify the bock style it's the same with Copperhead Ale -- it's just not a very good altbier. More of an alt-alternative.

Bottle pours a bright copper colour, with a decent white head that disappears quickly. Didn't recognize this as an "alt" beer until reading the BA classification, as it struck me as a more mundane "macro American" amber. Stilted aroma of some caramelized malts, but without the breadth of many and with a hint of a stale, industrial tang. Flavour is simple and may appeal to a wider crowd, but lacks the depth for which I'd hoped. Some simple caramel, but divorced from the malt spectrum found in a traditional Dusseldorf "alt".
Sweet finish without complications - which I hope will act as a gateway beer to bring others over to the more interesting "craft" side...
