A: Clear and golden with barely any head

S: Very light smell. Nice sweet note.

T: Smooth and quite light. Has a earthy malt feel with a subtle bitterness.

M: Nice crisp feel that doesn't linger. Pretty much no heat on this one.

D: A very drinkable beer. In fact it's best attribute is its drinkability.

Overall a very drinkable beer yet nothing "special". It's a decent everyday drinker if bought for a good price.

Pretty good beer, although I'm not sure I would buy this myself (it came in my January Beer of the Month Club shipment).

It was a pretty gold color with a tiny white head. There was an absence of lace.

The aroma was fresh, outdoors, grassy.

Taste was similar to aroma. Grassy hops, a little bread.

This was a crisp, refreshing beer that I could see accompanying a slice of pizza.

Crystal clear yellow lager with big head that disappears but leaves lace on side of glass. Excellent authentic German nose, musty hints and bready malts. Sharp tasting beer, thin with appropriate helles accessibility but not especially refreshing and not at all complex. Beer mellows and improves as it warms, and the malts come out to play. A decent US micro lager, probably better when it's absolutely fresh.

Its slightly hazy golden body is capped by a fairly long-lasting head of creamy white foam that initially leaves creamy rings of lace about the glass. The nose is grainy, and slightly husky, with a touch of floral hops. The body is medium-light with a fine carbonation that leaves it gently crisp and then creamy as it warms across the palate. The flavor displays a well-balanced combination of grainy malt infused with floral, herbal, and delicately spicy hops backed by a firm bitterness that's just enough to balance. It finishes clean, short and dry with just some light residual maltiness. Very nicely done!

I don't care for the style, but this wasn't bad looking. It's a bit darker than what I expected. Still clear, but it's darker than straw colored, instead a deep goldenrod shade. Despite the light shade of the helles, the head is a stark contrast in extremely bright white. A good two fingers thick, it retains well leaving a faint, splotchy haze behind.

It's got a nice malty nose to it. Slight savory overtones come wafting up and what I think is something lemony.

Everything in the nose shows up on the tongue. Malt backbone with savory hops dancing a little jig with kind of a yeasty finish.

In addition to not thinking the mouthfeel sucked, I actually enjoyed it a bit. There's the slightest addition of sweet citrus to balance out the German yeast and hops. It's still light bodied, but it's crisp and dry in the finish to round out the experience.

Overall it's nice beer for the style. It's easy to drink, and would be even better on a hot day. I generally avoid lagers, but I enjoyed this one.

Ordered a bottle at the Brickskeller. Poured into a 7 oz. pilsner glass, it's clear and light gold with a white head.

This is a subtle, but complex beer. There's an dominate smooth, bready malt flavor, like you'd find in any good German helles lager. Then in the aftertaste dry, hard water minerals and herbal hop notes develop into the aftertaste. This all makes a pretty good beer, but if those complimentary notes were more intense, this would be a great beer. Very drinkable, worth a try.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a pint glass the liquid is a darker shade of yellow and hase good carbonation. The head is 2 fingers off with and leave some lace.

The smell is light and bready.

The taste follow with a classic helles beady malt. Lightly sweet, could us a tap more of noble hops .

The mouthfeel is ok almost medium body and good carbonation.

The drinkability 1s good. Not a bad example of the style.

Poured from 12oz beer.

A- Pours a light sunshine yellow body. One finger white head shows light retention. Hints ofr specks of lace on the sides of the glass.

S- Light biscuity malts in the front of aroma. Hints of a orange like fruit in the ending of the aroma. Nothing really else in the nose as it is super light.

T- Like the front of aroma this one is mostly biscuity for the most part. Hints of light butter flavor also in the ending front to middle of the beer. The middle of the beer shows a light grainy flavor. Light orange fruit in the ending of the flavor profile with a hint of grassy hops in the final flavor of this beer. The alcohol isn't really much in the ending at all.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Biscuity malts, light butter, and orange left on the palate. Aftertaste is hint of alcohol, biscuity malt, and orange. Flavors were balanced for the style but light overall. Off flavors were buttery and nothing else. Light alcohol drying on the palate.

O- This beer was a light drinker. Nothing special about it and a little off flavor to it. A simple summertime beer I think. Or else it would be a perfect beer to drink when you don't feel like drinking bigger beers.

On-tap at Ram's Head Tavern at BWI airport:

The beer appeared a light yellow-ish, with virtually no head. What did remain was a thin white head. Upon first glance, it did not look that appealing. The aroma of the beer was very light and mainly grainy and a light biscuit. The taste, like the aroma, was light and mostly grains and biscuit. The beer had a light feel to it and it was a bit watery. Overall, a less than average beer and one that I would not order again.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a rich golden color with a small head. Smells of malts with considerable sweetness. Taste is much milder than the smell, crisp, malts, not a lot of flavor. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and has good drinkability. Overall this is a pretty good beer.

All in all, a decent beer for its type, though it pales in comparison to the German helles imports (and some of the US craft-brewed offerings of the same style). Yellow straw in the glass with a few bubbles visible. White head that disappates quickly. Hoppy malt (fairly balanced) in the nose with a thin mouthfeel. Flavor is balanced, but there is a bit of a mysterious metallic taste that permeates. It detracts from what could be much more of a positive. As Fordham goes, it's pretty good. And the fact that it is brewed in the region, means it's fresh. That, if nothing else, makes it worth buying, so long as you live in the vicinity.
