From The Ram in Salem, Oregon. Pours amber with a one-inch cream color head and good amount of lacings. Aroma caramel, some minor floral hops. Taste is caramel with some mildly bitter hops. A bit of leather in the hop profile also.
Mouthfeel is very good for the style. Drinkability is very good. Would be a good introduction to craft beers. (341 characters)

Nice beer I had at alefort in Boise Idaho
aroma- caramel with toast
appearance- Red or 'amber' in color.
taste- classic amber beer. Little salt on this beer.
palate- smooth with a little co2.
overall I have liked this beer for sometime. I have been grabbing growlers for years at the two locations here in town. Thanks for contributing to boise's beer (352 characters)

At the Boise Ram, served in an oversized shaker, the beer is a dark amber with an off-white head.

The nose is of caramel, lightly toasted grains and a hint of coffee.

The taste tracks the smell. It is sweet with lots of malts. There is a whirl of citrus in the back and the first few sips of the beer finish with something that reminds me of percolator coffee (you know the stuff, served at school functions and church basements everywhere). Then it disappears and I wonder was it really ever there? I'm not sure its supposed to be there, but I kind of like it.

The mouth is workman like. I had no problem drinking this beer coffee surprise and all. (652 characters)

I enjoy this amber.

Looks like a dark bourbon color. Lightly carbonated, thin persistent head. Little and quickly fading lacing.

Smells woody (not piney, but foresty), taste is the same with some earthy, moist caramel notes.

Feels thin but sticky. Remarkably drinkable. I don't know how strong this beer is, but it's good to drink.

Got it at the Ram Restaurant and Brewery in Kent, WA. A growler is $5 on Saturday. (418 characters)

From notes, sampled 9/8/2011.

On Tap, The Ram downtown Boise. Served in a frosty mug.

A: Very dark, clear amber with hints of ruby, brown and golden orange. Good head lacing from an off-white, frothy head.

S: Muted (from the cold). Little whiffs of malty caramel, with just the faintest bits of bittering hops.

T: Taste follows the nose, toasty malts and nuttiness, bits of sweet caramel & toffee, and just the faintest kiss of hops. There is some woodiness in the taste as well.

MF: Lighter mouthfeel, wet-feeling, with very little hop dryness.

O: One of my favorite non-hoppy ambers, this beer has good toasty caramel/toffee malt characters without being overwhelming. (676 characters)
