On tap at Central Coast Brewing in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, wood, and bourbon. Taste is much the same with a cookie dough flavor that comes out as the beer warms. There is a mild roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp but medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a great smell and a nice barrel aged flavor.

Central Coast Bourbon Creek Stout
On tap at the brewery
Appearance: brown, small head, and some lacing.
Smell: very strong bourbon, slight vanilla, and a faint hop.
Taste: bourbon, vanilla, and a faint cocoa.
Mouthfeel: medium-light.
Overall: this brew is pretty good. It is the lightest full flavored bourbon ale I've had.
