Had this beer in Brookline over at a certain "Irish" pub thats really a Belgian pub... I wont name names.
Drank it on the recommendation of my fellow bar pal and was no disappointed. Very dark with a light head... this brown is all you would want in a abbey brown. Sweetness upfront with a nutty crisp finish. This beer is a heartier more refinded version of the possibly more common leffe bruin. Seek this brew out. its worth the time and money.

Corsendonk Dubble Pater is Great Abbey beer.
A: It sports solid brown body with mahogany highlights and active carbonation. Forms an off white loosely knit head that lasts and laces, but not as much as the best Belgiques.
S: Creamy. Fruity and spicy to the nose.
T: Follows the nose with malty sweetness covered in caramel, and chocolate. Nice balance of sweet and tart to the taste. Fruits: plums, raspberries, dark grapes, figs, and dates.
Then tartness rounds the finish perfectly.
MF: Great balance that brings tingly spice to the dry finish.
