$ 3.69/11.2 oz bottle at Vintage Estates, Boardman, OH
Bottle dated 05.02.16 at 45 degrees into imperial pint glass
Aroma of malt and chocolate
Head large (5 cm), light brown, frothy, diminishing to irregular layer 5 – 12 mm
Lacing OK – scattered heaped islands of small to medium bubbles
Body dark reddish brown, clear
Flavor begins a little bitter licorice with some raisin overtones and a hint of chocolate. No hops, no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate light to medium, slightly creamy, lively carbonation
A decent example of one of my favorite beer styles. This could, perhaps, be improved by being slightly sweeter, but it’s pretty good as is.

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy brown with tall, long-lasting, foamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of plums, cherries, caramel, funky yeast and brown sugar. Body is full and crisp. Spicy yeast, caramel malt, plums, raisins, brown sugar, minerals and herbal hops fill the mouth. Finish is long and spicy. Nice Dubbel.
