Drank from the bottle, so I couldn't rate the appearance very well. Clearish looking. Has a malty aroma, with some nutiness. Has a nice malty taste, but not much flavor. Warming up...more maltiness, some spiciness. Lagerish. Ehh.

I got my bottle of hog's breath beer down in Key West , Fl , at the famous Hog's Breath Saloon. The beer poured a semi-clear amber color , with just a slight lace and small white head. The aroma is of clean , slightly toasty and sweet malts. The brew has a medium body of sweet malts , slight bisquit , and a light edge of bitterness. The flavor is on the slightly sweet side as is the lingering aftertaste. I was actually very pleased that i tried out this beer on my trip to the keys. It was , and is IMO the best beer to be had at any of the many bars in Key West.
Here is some info about the Contract brewery ( Wainwright) and their relationship to Hogs Breath and the Pittsburgh Brewery:
The Wainwright Brewing Company is a contract brewing company (beer brewed under contract by Pittsburgh Brewing).
Joseph J. Wainwright founded one of America's oldest breweries in the early 1800's. Located in Lawrenceville, which is technically part of today's Pittsburgh, J.J.Wainwright's was one of the twenty-one Pennsylvania breweries that merged in 1899 to become Pittsburgh Brewing Company. The Pittsburgh brewing Company in the form of the contact brewing company Wainwright started brewing the special J.J. Wainwright beers in the late 1990's in Lawrenceville using the time honored methods and quality ingredients that J.J. Wainwright used for his select beers.
