Metallic macro lager. Can be any macrolager, but quite refreshing.

Picked up a bunch of cans of beer during my visit to Sweden and brought home a can of Lapin Kulta....I was unaware it was from Finland....which is cool cuz never had a beer from Finland! The Lager pours clear golden with good carbonation that produces a big white fluffy head that fades with time although did leave some lace. It smelled very similar to other Euro lagers....heinakin stella, etc. The taste was a little sweet with grainy backdrop and some hops. Mouthfeel was decent nice light body good for sessions. Overall its the best Finnish beer I ever had! Not bad.

Had it on flight from Delhi to Helsinki, poured from can into plastic glass. Dark yellow in colour, with a lot of fizz and a massive head and heavy lacing. Nose was very flowery with tofee notes, impressed. Taste of sweet malt at first with a short lived hop bitterness. Mouthfeel was medium with little sting, could be a possible session beer, but I would really settle for something else.

Poured into a branded pilsener glass from the 330mL bottle.

A: The beer is a pure gold color, clear with plenty of carbonation. 2 fninger pure white foamy head with ok retention and rings going all the way down the glass.

S: Malty, bready, great smell, light fruit touch at the end and a fleeting sweetness.

T: Into is clean, midpalate of bread. Finishes smooth with a touch of light bitterness and a light taste of bread. Strangely mally brew with some lingering fruitiness in there.

Overall: Amazing drinkability on this one. Rich taste, yet, light and refreshing. Very well done and an unexpected flavor from a Finnish Euro Pale. "Refreshing yet full bodied"

A - Golden colored liquid with lots of small bubbles and a large white head that leaves some lacing.

S - Malt and hops, some hints of citrus.

T - Malt, some hops, some citrus, a bit bready and dry taste.

M - Thin body with lively carbonation.

D - A booring lager that works on warm days.

.33L emptied into a Pilsener.

A: Pours honey gold with a fizzy 2-finger white head which slowly receeds to a thick ring. Good lacing throughout.

S: Light, bready malt with floral hops.

M: Medium bodied with lots of carbonation.

T: Sweet, bready malt with underlying mild hops. No real balance here. Finish is abrupt, but not crisp. Astringent aftertaste lingers, like it has hop extract.

D: Not a very balanced beer and certainly not worth the premium price. I can say that I have experienced this beer. Now I don't have to experience it again.

Had this on the train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi a few weeks ago. Served with a small, fine, white head that lasts and a little lace. Color was a clear, deep yellow with bubble trails. Aroma was beery, hop, grain, malt. Flavor was similar to nose with good bittersweet and tang balance. Good body and carbonation. Finish was similar to flavor and of about average length. Servicable beer.

500ml can poured in a chalice.

A: Pours golden-yellow to orange color producing a big white fluffy head. Not much retention but some few lacings left. A thin bubbled layer remains after all

S: Sweet. Sweet grains and grassy hops. Well, very "Heineken" smell

T: Follows the nose: Sweet grains and grassy hops. Reasonable hop bitterness which is a good point

M: Very light body. Medium to high carbonation

O: This is the Finnish version of Heineken after all. Not bad Lager

This beer comes in a 33 cl dark green long-necked bottle. The label-image is blue (probably the river water used when brewing) with a red midnight sun.

Lapin Kulta - The gold of Lapland.

A: The liquid is dark golden with lots of small bubbles. The head is really large, but a bit uneven and soapy. The dissipation is a bit slower than I expected and leaves rich lacings.

S: Malt and some bitter hops. A dry smell.

T: Bready malt, a bit unbalanced though. Faint bitter hops and faint citric notes.

M: Aftertaste is not long-lasting and dry and bitter, but not in the good way. The body is medium and the carbonation is rich.

D: A macro beer that doesn't stand out - you could get both better and weaker ones. But this one is nothing to write home about.
