Crystal clear apple cider like liquid with a fat stack of white big bubble head

Crisp malt and hops on the nose, a little yellow haystack in there as well

Light malts lead the way with slight bitterness in the rear

Light to medium mouth feel average carbonation

Overall a solid staple beer; refreshing and light but doesn't taste cheap.

Comes in a tall brown half liter bottle with a swing top and a multicolored label featuring a pretty happy monk admiring a full beer stein. Purity law applies. Best before 8/21/04, I opened it on 4/28/04.

Pours clear straw gold under a 1.5 finger white head that settles quite quickly, but the collar leaves outstanding lace. The nose is full of fresh flowery hops. The mouth is light and prickly. The taste opens with some mild malt camoflage, but this is all about crisp, slightly metallic hops. The bitter bite lingers well through the finish and into the aftertaste, with some barley returning late. This is a good drinking beer.

This beer comes in a fliptop bottle and a cheap looking label. It pours a bright golden beer with a creamy mousse head.

Smell is malty and has some sulfur notes and has some straw and a light husk smell. It smells pretty full bodied and strong.

Taste leans heavily on the malt, again the sulfur notes and a nice bitterness, which is pretty clean, just a little earthy and 'noble'. A good beer but nothing earth shattering, just well done.

Kulmbacher's Moenchshof pours nicely to produce a thick amount of head. The body is kristall klar and is light gold in color.

The fragrances I detect are a bitter spiciness and lemony hops.

This tastes a little watered down. There is a grainy huskiness and herbal flavor, but is almost subdued by the watery feel.

This brew is okay, but nothing to rave over.

Monschshof has a golden color, with a good head and light carbonation. The smell is of grains and is pleasant. The taste is crisp and refreshing, slightly bitter. It is smooth and clean. This is a very enjoyable beer and is great for session drinking.

Pours clear light yellow with huge creamy head, patchy lacing. Aroma is simple grainy malt, bits of floral hop aroma.

Taste is malt with pleasant, crisp zesty bitterness. Mouthfeel is light with rather high carbonation.

Overall, quite good Pils. Nothing too memorable, but nothing bad either.

A german pilsener, good for mexican food, american food, serving in a pint glass, in general its apperance like a czech beer, but made in bohemia, smell in the average, taste is bad, mouthfeel and drinkability are acceptable, recommended for a common drinkers.

50 cl bottle into a mug. Clear pale golden body, medium head, ok retention and lacing, nice bubbling. Subtle grassy hops and grainy malt in the smell. Pale malt with a note of apple in the background in the clean taste, finishing dry with a slight grassy hop bitterness. Medium-light body, high carbonation. Overall a decent german pils, nothing spectacular but a good, drinkable beer.

Hue leaning more to yellow than to orange, a creamy white head, with high retention and residual, very consistent carbonation made of very tiny bubbles.

Excellent malty aroma

Excellent pilsner taste, with ideal bitterness, sharp end without being extreme.

cooling and lightweight body makes it possible to drink large, without resentment.

Golden colour, clear, decent sized head which it held on to quite well. Aroma seemed to be Hallertau hop with notes of apple. Tasted slight clove and banana. Finish was grassy and malty, slight hop bitterness but not over done. Mouthfull was crisp, fairly well carbonated which gave it a slightly coarse edge. Decent character for a German Pils, won't blow anybody away but much bitter than big name brands.

Light clear golden pour, a large frothy head, good carbonation, malty hop grain flavour, some crispness aroma of floral hops and honey, pale malts, with a subtle yeastiness. A mild bitter but good hop taste at the finish. Has many characteristics like some Czech brew, this would be a nice session beer.

Tasted in Frankfurt 09.

Pours a clean light golden colur with a firm white head that holds well.

Clean aromas with a slight herbal hop note. Some grainy malt and perhaps even a little lemon. Not much happening.

Palate falvours mimic the nose with some slight herbal hop notes and a mild maltiness. Very low flavour intensity.

Nice enough mouthfeel but very thin and watery towards the end.

Figure this is standard Germany swill Pils as it isn't very exciting. 1.50 EUR from the corner store though, so no complaints on value!

This is my first beer review so please don't expect too much. I don't consider myself an expert who can detect notes of this and hints of that. I just know I like and what mings! Anyway here we go...

Appearance: This beer comes in a good chunky swing top 500ml bottle with an attractive colourful label. The pour is good as well and leaves a thick head with below it the beer itself with a clear pale gole colour. Plenty of fizz is evident. As the drink goes down the head holds very well.

Smell: The smell is quite subtle really, all I could make out was hops, pleasant but nothing special

Taste: Once you manage to get through the head and have wiped your nose clean, there is not really a lot to say about this beer. It tasted fine, that's it.

Mouthfeel: My first impression on this was that I could tell it was a beer I was drinking. It was sharp. The carbonation I have already mentioned could be clearly felt as the bubble washed against my teeth. Towards the bottom of the glass however it started to cloy slightly and I was glad to finish it.

Drinkability: OK. All in all this is a pleasant enough beer without being anything special. The sheer fizz would probably cause bloating and serious belching in a session. I wouldn't run back but nor would I avoid it in the future.

Hmmm this is not as good as their Schwarzbier but it ticks all the boxes of a decent pils.

The taste is dominated by clean hoppiness and not that much eslse. Light body and medium carbonation makes this a very refreshing and drinkable summer beer. May have this again.

From notes. Poured a very clean pale straw color with a small head and very active carbonation. Nose was rather light, with grainey notes and a light touch of noble hop. Flavor was nice. Light grain and light spicey noble hop. Very clean but with a touch too little flavor for me. The feel was light moderate with a very persistent carbonation. Very refreshing. Overall a nice pilsner. I enjoyed the crispness and how refreshing it was.

half liter growler poured into a stange. pours a crystal clear golden straw color with a large white fluffy head. moderate lacings.

aroma is of light floral yeast and pale malts. a distant note of citrus is also present.

taste is of more floral yeast, with the same note of pale malts and a bit of citrus. subtle in its profile, yet refined in its character.

mouthfeel is light bodied, with a slightly watery texture. a standard pils here.

drinkability is good. there is solid complexity with a subtle smoothness here, all while remaining refreshing.

A: Pour is golden with a pretty large kind of fluffy white head, which dissipates into some lacings.

S: Mostly floral hops; citric notes. But there's also some bitterhops and some maltyness to it.

T: Malt together with bitter hops, and a floral hoppy twist. Citric notes. Neat and clean.

M: Aftertaste is long and mostly bitter. Body is medium creamy and carbonation is balanced medium.

D: A German pilsener a bit above average.

Pale and very clear , so clear , to me it looks unattractive. The head is good it laces nicely it justs looks a little too soft.
There were vague hints of some herbaceous material on the nose , neither unpleasant or very dominant
Unexceptial lager flavour but does have a undertone of shortbread biscuit to it , which I guess to be the maltiness and the hop biterness combining.
Flavour and mouthfeel are all at the front of the mouth , in that there is no depth in anything that is happening mouthwise.
I found this to be somewhat boring.
It is drinkable but I would not bother again

I guess I have to thank the Soccer World Cup for this brew, 'cause a local supermarket is now offering 7 beers from the Kulmbacher brewery in a sort of a celebration or homage for the host of this sport event.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Light yellow straw color, white fluffy and short lived head and some lacing.

Smell is of a typical German pilsener: Malty and noble hops.

Taste is very refreshing, balanced, a bit more prone to the bitterness.

Mouthfeel is crisp, good crisp, though. Nice lasting bitter and spicy aftertaste.

Drinkability is high, can have this one anytime. :-)

Quite a downgrade from the pilsner I had right before it...has an off-taste and overall vibe of an AAL.

Pours with a minimal white head, increadibly light and filtered.

Nose is minimal, a bit of grains.

Taste is the same but with a hint of pine and herbal hops; dominated by a musty taste and corn. Finishes slick with a slightly grassy bitterness.

Not impressed; German Pilseners may be a "simple style" but there are a few characteristics that make or break them and this one just doesn't cut it.

Clear yellow color, almost green. Decent white head.
The smell is hop and hay, not very fresh.
Standard taste, without great notes: malt and hop, slightly stale, and nothing more.
Hop again in he aftertaste, enough pleasant for an industrial pils.
Scarce body.
