Appearance: Clear dark reddish brown in color with a thick fluffy 2 finger head and moderate carbonation. Nice swirl which left syrupy legs on the glass. Almost a port like texture.
Smell: The nose was big and sweet, malty with hints of molasses and chewy dark fruit. A slight hint of oatmeal cookies.
Taste: Big tasty malt, lots of dark fruit, cherries and prunes. A slight bitterness develops and is quite nice. There is some alcohol noted here on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Oh so nice, smooth and creamy, a bit chewy. The body is full and adds to the enjoyment of this pour.
Drinkability: Fantastically drinkable. The alcohol is noticeable but wouldn't deter you from having a second.
Thoughts: This is my first Eisbock and it will NOT be my last. It was a nice change of pace from the Belgians and American pales I have found myself into lately. Thanks to Mike @ Davidson's Liquors here in Denver for recommending this one. He never steers me wrong!

Pours a brilliant deep brown with garnet highlights and a frothy cream head that dissipates to minimal foam.
Molasses, treacle, dates, raisins, figs, and prunes form the aroma.
Flavor follows suit, with dark fruit balancing against toasted malt and a lightly bitter, tar finish. The balance is definitely sweet, but that dry finish prevents it from being cloying.
Body is full, with minimal carbonation. Alcohol warmth is surprisingly moderate.
The melanoidin character and deep esters really stand out and balance each other well.
