Notes/Commercial Description:
Old Faithful Ale is golden blonde in color with a crisp body and light malt sweetness. We cold conditioned this ale to give it a pleasantly smooth character and dry palate. The domestically grown noble hops give this beer a light, floral hop aroma, making it exceptionally easy to drink.

Appearance - Pours a yellow/golden color. Very transparent without a lot of bubble activity in the glass. Fizzy head that doesn't last long after pouring.

Smell - Very weak aroma, not a lot going on when it comes to smell.

Taste - A slight hop/bitter taste when it first hits the tongue that very quickly fades away to a watery nothing. Not at all what I would expect from an APA.

Mouthfeel - Very light mouthfeel, almost like water with carbonation.

Drinkability - Only real redeeming quality of this beer I guess is that you can drink more than one based on the fact its so light. All the other characteristics make it kind of a struggle to get down though.

Kind of reminded me of something along the Bud/Miller line of beers.

Pours a light golden amber with a half finger head that melts to a surprisingly sticky lacing.
Aroma is sweet malt, light citrus, grassy hops.
Taste is citrusy orange/lemon hops initially, then slightly honey sweet malt, following with slight drying citrus hops.
Really clean mouthfeel....nice full carbonation.
This is a real thirst quencher...and definately something to session on long hot days or to gulp after mowing the lawn.
Nice...fresh...refreshing...clean.

Grand Teton- Old Faithful Ale

A- Bright clear yellow, unlively (no carbonation) and a decent ringed lacing head.
S- Light lemon and honey straw.
T Light honey sweetened hay/ straw. Slight lemon citrus hops make up the body.
M- Very light and sugary. decent malty body with a sweet dry hop finish.

Overall- Blah. Slightly bland and boring. I'll drink the 3 I have but I wouldn't buy this.

I picked this gem up in Hillside, SD at the Sick-n-Twisted brew pub. This is a solid beer from Grand Teton....its not amazing like some other pale ales but this beer just works. The beer poured a cloudy golden with white head that is leaving a lace. The scent carries pale malt and some fresh hop that leans toward bitter. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a sessionable beer and can be enjoyed most on warmer days.

Poured deep golden/bronzw with 4 fingers of offwhite head. Good head retention & minmal lacing

Smell: Loads of floral hops & then fruitiness

Taste: Floral & citrus hops up front& then fruittiness. Finishes with hoppyness & then fruit.

MF: Great balance and good carbonation

Very drinkable, maybe not quite on style, but tasty enough I'd certainally reccomend it

Clear golden color with a slim head that quickly disappeared to a few spotts of bubbles on the surface of the beer. Some spotty lacing is left on the glass. Interesting aroma at least. Pale malt and honey. Do not know if this is brewed with honey or not but there is a floral sweetness. No hops. The flavor is quite poor for an APA but it would be an average Blond Ale. A bit sweet with some pale malt flavor. Again no hops or bitterness. Light body and low carbonation. Maybe a little too low. Has a little bit of a slick feel. Not bad for a light beer but if you are looking for a hoppy APA, you will be very disappointed. Usually can be found on sale so it makes drinking this beer a little easier to drink.

12oz longneck. Rating this as a pale golden, not an APA.
A) Pours with a finger thick, white head. Slowly settles to a bubbly lacing at the edge of the glass. Transparent. Mellow upward carbonation. Gold in color. Lacing is thin and sticky.
S) Hints of citrus. Grassy.
T) Floral. Subtle honey notes. Grainy. Just a hint of hops in the finish. Lingering malt sweetness in the aftertaste.
M) Light body. Dry. Fizzy. A slight bit chalky in the finish.
D) A decent Golden ale, I wouldn't call it an APA. Too grainy and lacks some of the hop bite of a pale ale. But other than that fits the golden ale criteria.

12oz picked up at the Boise Coop for about $1.50... shared with a coworker... my half from my Delirum tulip. Listening to Sasha Live at the Avalon.

Vigorous pour produced a very nice 3/4" fluffy white head... that left behind good lacing. Very pretty golden/extra lite honey brew.

Smell is bready pale malts and just a touch of earthy hops.

Flavor is pale malts... biscuity notes... floral hops with just enough bitterness... maybe a little sweet or could use a bit more hop flavor. Body is very nice... good balance across the board.

Grand Teton makes some pretty good brews although, this is not my favorite, it is no slouch.

I bought a six pack of this in Evanston, Wyoming.

Appearance- golden color

Smell- malt, citrus

Taste- malt, citrus fruit

Mouthfeel- light to medium bodied

Drinkability- Pretty good, It says it's a pale ale but I think it's too light for a pale ale but I still thought it was pretty good.

Came with the Beer of the Month package and pours golden, with very little head and a slight bread smell. Very light and crisp with a dull flavor that has a slight hop and malt taste towards the end; a bitter middle with a dry finish. A decent beer, but not very exciting at all and not one I would order at a bar.

ABV = 4.94%

Wow, been away. Way behind on BMOC. Smell in the bottle is, well, not too desirable. Pours to a golden yellow. Head is there and gone. Taste is very light and refreshing but with nothing standing out, slight comeback. This can't be an ale, this is way too light. Pale ale I guess. Looking at the ABV for an ale I expected something different and it is. Smell in the glass is a better sweet and tarty hoppiness. Taste is semi-sweet and tart kind of off. This a bad bottle I hope. Not my style or something.

Bottled on 03/06/07:

Pours slightly hazed golden with a thin head that disappears rather quickly.

The smell is of bready yeast with some vague fruitiness.

The taste is of light caramel and a hint of sweet grain and light grass. Some vague fruitiness lies in the back. With minimal hop bitterness, it remains sweet through the finish.

This one leans towards watery, but not fizzy. Clean and smooth.

Very mild, this is an easy drinker with just enough taste to it to hit the spot on a hot day or to have as an easy "session" brew. To me it's between a blonde ale and an APA.

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for bringing this back from his trip to Idaho.

Nothing really stuck out while drinking this beer. Maybe I was expecting a little more coming off of drinking the award winning ESB. The malt had a decent tame sweetness to it. Light to medium body. The hops were very mild. As for the pale taste, there was enough to let you know its there but not enough to please.
