Appearance - This poured a rich, darkish orange in color with an amazing head that was big, white, and frothy and left a filmy retention on the inside of my glass.
Smell - This is a deep, rich, heavily hop-infused bouquet. The resin is very strong and shows lots of depth. The malts too are very sweet and full of caramel. The character of the nose isn't so much unique as it is the intensity of the aroma.
Taste - This is a huge, monstrous beer. When I saw that the ABV barely qualified this as a DIPA I was expecting a wimp but this is a true heavy hitter.
The malts are deep and rich and full of caramel goodness but none of that cheap artificial sugary flavor that you find in so many efforts at the style. The piney hop resin is in full force as well and there's a tinge of tangerine to keep things diversified.
Mouthfeel - This is close to full-bodied with some very mild carbonation and a terrific smoothness in between the cheeks.
Drinkability - I was pleasantly surprised at this offering from Grant Teton. They are hit or miss for me but this was a home run.

Served on tap into a tulip glass.
A- Poured a hazy orange color with off-white soapy head with big bubbles that left webbed lacing.
S- Huge pungent grapefruit, piney, and orange citrus notes. Lots of huge juicy hop character in the aroma, very strong and aromatic.
T- Lots of sweet and juicy grapefruit, big piney hops, orange citrus, dankness, and some tropical fruit notes. Very pungent, juicy, and lots of sweetness for a DIPA, but pretty low bitterness for the style.
M-Prickly carbonation, fuller bodied, some warming, semi-dry finish, and slightly syrupy.
O- This is an intensely hoppy and enjoyable DIPA> Very concentrated hoppiness with lots of residual sweetness but not over the top.
