On tap at Hamilton's, had a couple pints of this. Pours a dark burgondy with a tiny bit of off white foam. Smell has a nice hop aroma to it. Really green, pungent. The taste is quite similar to some imperial reds like that from Lagunitas and Alesmith winter Yulesmith. A very smooth (red-ale-like) malt body behind some aggressive hopping and nice bitterness. Per Grand Teton's website this actually is an "American Red Ale" so I think they hit that quite nicely.

Bottled on 9/26/13.
Pours a murky dark orange with a foamy orange-tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, brown sugar, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with earth and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with very earth forward aromas and flavors.
