Vintage: 2010

A: Pours a golden yellow with thick, white, foamy head. Retention is good. Lacing is sticky but loose.

S: Faint lemony aroma. Grassy aroma as well is noticed. Hints of floral and malts are there in the background.

T: Bitter grassy hops. Not too over powering. Malt flavor is detected but it is more of a balance to the hops than anything else.

M: Light & crisp. Kinda buttery on the tongue.

D: Oh yeah, I would love to get more of this in a trade! Grand Teton is in the Chicago market but not the full line-up. Thanks Harrymel for this "extra"!

Poured into a standard pint a slight hazed burnt orange infused medium golden with one finger clingy white head, globs of lace were left behind as it settled into a creamy mass.Gotta love the big grapefruit rind aromas here, this is American ballsy hop all the way, just citrus oil to the max over top of a biscuit base.Bright citric hop flavors, just fresh tasting and bursting with flavor,a sweetish base is there but the hops are the main attraction.A little light in the feel but it may contribute to the drinkibility, just a great APA,it is true to its name.

Pretty typical looking IPA, has a hint of orange and grapefruit/flowery hops in the nose.

The taste is fresh and well balanced with floral hops and yeast, as there is quite a bit of sediment in the glass, I'll have to pour this one more carefully next time. The malt is there to balance but doesn't contribute a whole lot to the flavor. Flavorful and very drinkable. Worth a try.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy goden yellow with a creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet melon and grassy hops with a touch of pepper.

The flavor is some sugary sweetness and a little melon followed by an earthy bitter hop finish. It's a little too sweet and I don't particularly care for the hop flavor but it has decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a well-made IPA. The flavor profile isn't totally up my alley though.

Lets starts by saying that this beer is wonderful

A . The aroma is wonderful liight grassy with citrus a nice blend of hop aromas makes a flower aroma

Look. Golden amber with a nice lacing. Head forms and slowly dissipates

Taste. The taste is lite and refreshing near perfect it starts sweet and becomes hoppy but not bitter the taste remains grassy and citrus and refreshing

This beer as compared to other apas is near perfect. The mouth is smooth with slight carbonation it is light but full of flavor love it

Many thanks to JoshD for this one...
Golden copper in color with a full finger of white head...most of which goes bye-bye fairly quickly, but leaves some thin lacing that coats the glass nicely.
Tea leaves in the nose with a touch of citrus.
This is one solid IPA...not overly sweet and quite bitter up front and in the finish...Sweetgrass is a clever name as there is a definite earthy, wet hop flavor that I am really enjoying.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and right for the style...carbonation mellow and just adds to the mouthfeel.
Goes down real easy...finishes very clean and the 6.5% is well hidden.
Would love to be chillin' at the brewery sucking a few of these down...maybe someday.

Opened 12 fl oz bottle (bottled 10/07/08), poured into Nonic glass.

Very little head development, but forms a layer of lace across top of glass and lace clings to sides. Brew is a translucent amber color with bubbles/particles in suspension (cool).

Smells like pineapple, malts and slight green herb smell. Taste is hoppy but not overly so. Some citrus/pineyness on palate, but not a strong hop as I am use to with American IPA. Beer is good BUT I noticed something that I have never tasted in beer before. Call me strange but I taste a slight "Alka-Seltzer" finish on the brew. It only last a second and isn't unpleasant, but It is definitely there. I was excited about drinking a beer from one of my favorite mountain ranges, but this didn't live up to my expectations. Granted, I've probably had 10 score beers that were not this good.

All in all, not bad but not outstanding.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Pint.

Appearance: Slightly hazy and honey colored. Thin, barely off-white head without much lacing.

Smell: All hops, with sweet grapefruit, mango and pine. Light toasted malt in the background.

Taste: Semi-sweet tropical fruitiness with mango, citrus and grapefruit predominant. Some light toasted malt in the background, before ending with pine and considerable bitterness.

Feel: Moderately high carbonation (especially for an IPA), medium, slightly oily body, dry finish.

Drinkability: Listed here as an IPA, and I think Teton used to call it an IPA. Now it says APA on the label, but I still believe it is more IPA-like. Either way, it is a solid American ale that just misses the mark due to a strange mixture of tropical sweetness and dry bitterness.

Poured hazy bright gold with a huge frothy white head. Sticky lacing. Perfumey aroma of grapefruit, grass, and mineral water. Smooth, effervescent mouthfeel. Crisp, fresh hop taste. Mellow pink grapefruit, peach, mango flavors, with very little resin. Sweeter malt that is more bready than caramel. I could drink this all day. Very, very nice IPA

Pours out a darker yellow and gold, nice 3/4" head on it. Aroma was super grassy, not so much hoppy.

Taste, maybe its just the name, but this really kicks down a sweet and grassy vibe. The hopping is relatively average, but the sweetness of the malt is really the dominant thing going on here. There's some grapefruit like flavor as well. Maybe some peel/rind. Lemongrass. Oftentimes, people describe a beer as dry. This is not. This is grassy wet, sweet and lightly tart.

The mouthfeel is almost sorachi ace like with the hops. A real small amount of caramel. Its not world changingly different, but the slight difference compared to many other hoppy pales is welcome, and makes for a relatively enjoyable beer.
