Wake Up Call Imperial Coffee Porter has a distinct and robust coffee flavor that blends harmoniously with the roasted malts. Caramel, chocolate, and black malts give this ale its dark color and overtones of caramel and a cocoa-like sweetness. Only very gently hopped, the addition of coffee shines through, providing a delicious accent to this brew.
Grand Teton Brewing Company used well over a pound per barrel of Triple Certified Espresso beans from Caffe Ibis Coffee Roasting Company in Logan, Utah. This specialty dark roast has caramel sweetness with hints of dark chocolate and nuts and a smooth clean finish. While the focus has been on finding the perfect mate for this seasonal porter, it is no coincidence that the choice of beans also supports social justice and sustainable agriculture.

Appearance: Pours fudge colored, with an inch of beige foam; good retention and strands of lacing drape down
Smell: Chocolate, coffee and roasted grain
Taste: Roasted grain and chocolate forward, with coffee tones building; earthy, relatively dry finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; feels surprisingly thin
Overall: A bit of a lightweight in a class where the heavyweights are the champs

2016 August release poured into my Delirium Tremens snifter, appearance is dark with a dark tan head leaving lots of foamy lace.
Smell is chocolate and coffee, slight herbal notes.
Taste is similar, this is a really rounded, smooth, well-balanced coffee porter, not to roasty or sweet, light acidity and bright coffee flavor with almost no bitterness. A touch of leafy hops, faint.
Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, medium bodied.
Drinkability is high, this is a really awesome coffee porter. My first Grand Teton Brewing beer, very impressed. I'm gald I didn't cellar this one as the coffee is still so bright.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Almost black pour with full, thick, creamy beige head. Mild aroma of coffee and chocolate.. Taste brings some mellow bitterness, the coffee blending well with the dark malts and dome low key sweetness. Incredibly smooth. Bitterness lingers on the palate

huge fan of anything coffee these days, so this was a natural choice for me. another winner from grand teton, who still somehow seems to be out of the spotlight among the beer geeks even though they make incredible beer. this has a ton of coffee in it, but enough malts to support it. there is a nice sweetened espresso aroma and flavor through the whole thing aided by a caramel malt middle thats richer than a lot of these have, and very little acidity at all from the coffee. instead its smooth and big, with deep chocolate notes from the roasted barley and a cool nutty profile, both toasty and near burnt from the coffee, tons of body, this seems rich in protein and almost a viable breakfast substitute. slight smoke to it in the finish, and more bitter than sweet in the latter stages. impressive depth, plentiful coffee, cozy little cold weather beer right here, with a low enough abv for me to still drink a whole bottle without ill effects. chocolate and coffee both linger long on the tongue after the swallow. another expertly made beer from grand teton!

This beer poured a coal black color with almost no head on the glass and no lacing. Smells of dark roasted earthy coffee, with notes of chocolate. The taste follows fairly close to it, with a note of floral hops in the end. The coffee bitterness is a little strong at the end. Medium body and creamy smooth mouthfeel that goes down easily. Overall a very nice coffee porter.

Coal-black body; dense, creamy head; sheets of foam clinging to the glass. Earthy scents of roasted grains and coffee. The taste mirrors the aroma with the addition subtly sweet tones of chocolate; solid bitterness throughout. Medium-heavy in body; slick and silky mouthfeel; sweet all around yet with a gentle dryness at the finish.
Here is a solid beer. Very satisfying roasted grain flavors with a nice blend of coffee tones. It delivers an overall smooth sweetness tempered with a delicate dryness at the finish. In one regard, the body seems almost thin yet still rich and rewarding. All in all, a fine, very satisfying dark ale with a coffee edge.

A: Bright black with a 3” dark tan foam collar that coats the inside of the glass all the way to the finish.
S: Big coffee and malt aromas supported with a little caramel.
T: This is like a very light coffee and malt mousse that fills your mouth and slowly dissolves to liquid with as pleasant roast espresso chocolate bitter accent on the finish.
F: Very rich, smooth creamy texture with a big body and very fine soft carbonation.
O: Very fulfilling and deliscious.
