Dirty-penny colored beer supports a fast-fading white head that leaves light lace. Spicy and herbal hop aroma over sickly sweet malt. Sweet malt, tea, and honey taste sqeezes against ale fruitiness with hops bearing down from the other side. Aggressive bitter rides on an astringency and cuts through the chewy malt base with citric, and deeply herbal and floral hops. As the beer warms the malt side brightens a bit and very light resinous notes emerge. Just the way I like it. This a great pale, one of my favorites ever. It is full bodied, has good oomph, and brings the bitter but stays extremely drinkable.

A - Pours a nice burnt murky orangish copper color. Little head that disappeared rather quickly with very little lacing left behind.
S - creamy malt grainess little pine scent to it
T - okay at first all I really got was bitterness but after letting it sit for a bit the malt and pine taste came through and the bitterness died down a lot. I'venever had that hhappenbbefore. But after it died down the ale became very easy and balanced in flavor.
M - a medium light creamy feel with a oily bitter finish
O - to me it's a good pale ale very basic but very good and easy drinking. Not session able though but very refreshing.

To me this is just one of the most balanced pale ales out there. On tap this ale is a perfect balance of light hoppyness and malt flavor, has a nice fragrant aroma, and a good full body texture in the mouth. This beer is in the same range as Sierra Nevada Pale ale but without out the sweetness. This beer is only "good" in bottled form, but is excellent on tap.
