This is a solid 4 point beer. Even if I am a little biased. This beer pors a beautiful amber red with a nice head that leaves little lacing but looks nice in the beginning and then it seems to bow out when it is time for the flavours to shine throught. The smell is almost belgian like with a nice fruity nutty earthy smell. The first sip is of a nice sweet and nutty feel. The mouthfeel is nice and bold and it almost seems to be on the heavy sice, but for a nite cap beer it fits the bill. Very drinkable and worth a try. I am glad this is carried up in my neck of the woods.

On tap and the brewery in North Little Rock.

A: Pours a brick red color. A one finger white head forms and recedes after a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: Caramel malts and earthy hops in the nose. This is super simplistic, but not bad in any way.
T: Again with the caramel like malts. A bit more bread crust like flavors, with cereal grains. Earthy hops and a light bitterness lingering.
M/O: A lighter body than I was expecting. Moderate carbonation that finishes clean. OK to drink while at the brewery, but nothing really interesting about this one.

I have never really been sure what makes an Irish Red Ale, it always seems to be just a balanced reddish colored beer, and American breweries tend to make more of them than anyplace else. So, I guess this fits the bill, even though its not particularly engaging. An OK offering, but there are better Amber/Reddish Ales out there.

Dark copper penny colored, smell of toasted brown bread. Taste is roasted nuts with a bit a chocolate. The slightest bit syrupy, making it a good cold weather beer. Very good, possibly my favorite in this style.

One of my favorites from DB. A bold beer. I was surprised that the BU is only 31. I would've guessed around 50, but then again, I'm not an expert. The red/amber coloring and lacing are a thing of beauty. I'm not sure this is an all seasons beer for me, though. Definitely fall and winter, though.
