Red Trolley Ale sets the standard for Irish Reds. Originally brewed as our first holiday ale, this little trolley that could has blossomed into one of the most award-winning beers of all time. Three decades (and counting) later, each batch is still brewed with a half-ton of caramelized malts for a deep copper color, rich toffee aroma, and hints of raisins and currants. There’s no need to wait for the holidays. You can ride this trolley all year long.

Appearence is rich mahogeny with a small off-white collar leaving very light lace.
Smell isvery sweet malt, carmel, some gingerbread.
Taste is also real sweet and malty, but there is a husky bite too it as well, a touch metallic.
Mouthfeel is off dry and sharp.
Drinkability is ok if you like a really sweet, malty ale. I'd not have a 2nd if it wasn't the only craft brew in the san diego airport where I have a painful 4 hour layover. I was really hoping for some good IPA!

Purchased at a local grocery store.
Look: Deep, bright, clear red with a thick white head that quickly subsides.
Smell: Malty and a little sweet.
Taste: Like the smell but more pronounced. Starts off with a full malt flavor that finishes up with a touch of toffee sweetness.
Feel: Excellent. Low in mouth and smooth.
Overall: This is a great beer that I would highly recommend.
