I'm drinking this right now. It was the first glass off of a freshly-tapped cask at KS Sorrento. It looks like pale chocolate milk there are so many solids floating in there. While I do get a hint of the metallic smell/taste mentioned in other reviews just as I take a sip, it's not overbearing and swallowed up in the hoppiness of a decent IPA. Doesn't change my life, but it's quite drinkable and when it's the cheapest beer here (as it is tonight) I would have no problem ordering another.

Cask
Churchill's Pub & Grille
San Marcos, CA
An almost completely clear light amber with a touch of gold. Some floating sediment. Thick and creamy looking lace makes the glass supremely messy.
Some citrus hop notes but the main aroma is that of grass and some background floral elements. Subdued and simple.
The grassiest pale ale I've ever tasted. Tastes of herbs, grass, and plant stems, a touch of bitterness, and finishes remarkably dry. Unique, but not delicious. Nothing here is pungent or standing out; overall, seems nearly tasteless.
Probably the best part of the beer is its mouthfeel, although it did seem a bit metallic at times. It was supremely drinkable, but not remarkably flavorful.
A grassy, simple, boring, nearly tasteless pale ale. No reason to come back to this one.

Cask service via hand pump at the Karl Strauss pub in Costa Mesa.
A: Clear, light amber color with one finger of persistent white foam head that lasts until the end. Traces of yeast solids and hop bracts can be seen suspended in the column, and a small amount of sediment remains at the bottom of the glass. Heavy lacing remains on the glass.
S: Floral and citrus hops are very assertive at first approach, even masking the caramel and toasted grain that is revealed as the more volatile aromas fade. There is a very faint metallic thread detected, but otherwise the smells are clean, appropriate, and appealing.
T: Begins nearly dry, with citrus hop aromatics, husky pale malt, and moderate acidity. Hop flavors become acutely herbaceous in the middle, imparting a taste like juicy green plant stems, while acidity sees a brief peak before subsiding. The finish is mild and laced with hard minerals, with bitterness that remains restrained but slightly astringent.
M: Thin to medium viscosity, slightly acidic on the palate, with low carbonation.
D: This special cask of the wonderful Pintail fails to elevate the beer above what it normally is out of the tap or bottle. Instead of accentuating the best of the aromatic qualities, instead it features an added layer of green-ness that comes across as being fresh but unbalanced.
