Appearance: very light straw color which is what this type of beer is supposed to look like. There was not much head on the pour. Lots of bubbles in the beer, and relatively see through. Just missing a dense head.
Smell: I smell a very dense aroma of malt, more than hops. This type of beer is supposed to be more hops than malt. Reminds me of a domestic beer.
Taste: This tastes a lot like the German beers I've had before, maybe i haven't developed a taste for these beers yet. I don't taste hops, nor do i taste the malt. There isn't much citrus flavor either.
Mouthfeel: light beer, very drinkable with no carbonation. Very refreshing.
Overall: Another recommendation by Sam's Quik Shop, not too impressed with this one. Maybe next time.

Had this in a tulip although maybe I should have served this in a stange or pilsner glass at around 42 degrees.
Appearance: not much head although a nice pale color.
Smell: definitely one of the most interesting pilsner smells. I got a lot of apple, honeydew melon, funk, grass, hay and some herbal notes.
Taste: tastes clean and crisp with dry finish. Not too much hop on this one but definitely refreshing with some fruitiness mid palate. Some more hay and grass come in with some lager funk.
Mouthfeel: great carbonation, medium bodied, easy drinking.
Overall: This is one excellent pilsner. I have yet to see a German beer that has disappointed me and a great summer sipper.

Poured from a 11.2 oz bottle into a pilsner style glass. Pray for no skunking here...
Deep brass crystal shimmering clear body, with a booming bleach white frothy growing head. Large shampoo and soapy retention and clumps of soap on the glass sides. The most microscopic carbonation rising just in the middle.
Great dough notes of malt. Just rolled fresh bakery dough on the nose. Slight herbal hop presence. Otherwise pretty solid. Luckily not skunked.
Palate comes with a wonderful classic malt pils flavor. Deep dough and bread all over, mostly in the aftertaste. Some nice herbal bitterness on the finish, slightly peppery and green to match. Mild bakery finish. Good malt backbone with minimal sweetness and balanced bitterness, with a honey like coating.
Overall a real solid German pils. Pretty impressed since I find organic labelled beer often disappointing.

Poured into a pilsner glass. Pours a hazy, light straw amber with a thin white head that dissipates to a ring around the glass. Aroma of sweet, bready and biscuit malt, light grassy hops and skunk; a big burst of skunk from the bottle, but blends with the the other nice pilsner smells in the glass. Flavor is similar to aroma, bready and biscuit malt, toast (actual bread toast, not toasted malt), a hint of lemon, grassy and floral hops; there is something else in here that reminds me of a bakery, like sesame seeds or unusual flour. Nicely melded. Light bodied with peppery carbonation. A very nice pilsner with both an unusual look (hazy and light) and some complex, unidentifiable flavors that seem perfectly balanced in the profile. Nicely done. What an incredible tragedy that the initial aroma and aftertaste are both skunky. If it is true as an earlier reviewer from Germany said that this comes in a brown bottle domestically, these guys need to fire their entire foreign export packaging team. Dang. Nice enough to make me really look for this fresh or properly packaged.

Lovely fluffy white head settles to a nice 1/4" layer. The beer itself is ultra clear and light amber in color. Aroma is zesty, peppery, lemon, cracker grains, sweet and clean. Nice dry flavors....grains, spicy floral hops. This beer has a ripe greeness to it. Good slick mouthfeel. Carbonation is good but pretty chill for this style of beer.

11.2oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass. No freshness date, but there is some sort of code on the label . . . Squat, long-necked bottle is unlike any other I've seen. not digging the green glass though.
A: Dull straw color with a little haze. Rocky white head retains well and leaves plenty of sticky lacing behind.
S: Bready pils malt aroma. Soft herbal hopping, faint pulpy lemon. Touch of sulfur and minerality. Yeasty.
T: Very grainy up front. Husky. Touch of sulfur and minerals. Hint of grape leaf. Dough. Mild grassy hop, slight tick of lemon. Bready yeast. Grain and bready yeast on the finish.
M: Light in body. Creamy with a light firmness. Moderately strong, prickling carbonation. Unfortunately some husky astringency shows up as well.
O: This pilsner is a little rough around the edges and needs a some refining. The husky grain flavor/astringency is mostly the culprit.
