This is the house lager at Kennedy's pub in St Agatha Ont. It's made specifically for Kennedy's by the Brick Brewery in Waterloo and is only available on tap at Kennedy's. There were a good variety of English draft (Smithwicks, bass etc) but this is the house brew they recommend be served with the Waterloo county German-Mennonite fare like cabbage rolls, sauerbraten, schnitzel or pig tails. It's a good (tasty)representation of a Canadian draft lager but it is not really hopped and lagered well enough to compare with the German product.
Tapped a dark straw color with a smallish white head that didn't stay long. Virtually no aroma of hops just a slight malt smell. Stared light and epervessant but not tart sits rather medium bodied on the tongue with a lot of malt and yeast accents, then finishes sweet with a malt after taste,
Not my first choice for a draught lager but not bad with the food served in this atmosphere, If you get to the Kitchener Waterloo area Kennedy is definitely on the rural pub craw circuit and worth the trip.
