OK - this one was part of a big haul of random Canadian brews...

A: Poured from the 500mL can into a weizen glass; it's a slightly cloudy, pale, straw gold; snow white head is enormous and manages some really nice lacing.

S: LEMON - kind of like a liquid version of Lemonheads candy; some grains in there, but the lemon is overwhelming - smells almost like some sort of cleaning agent / dishwashing soap... yum.

T: Pretty much follows the smell; lots of lemon and some wheat; not good... at all.

M: Thin and watery, yet at the same time, slightly viscous - this does not play along well with the "cleaning agent" theme...

D: Its going to be difficult to finish ONE.

Pours a hazy golden yellow colour with thick white head. Nice lacing around the glass, pretty good head retention too. Smells of clove, lemon and some wheat malt, though this is a lot more faint than many witbiers. Flavour is pretty mild, almost no aftertaste at all. Smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Basically this beer seems to be well made, it just is missing flavour.

Appearance: A solid two fingers off head the laces and retains decently but sadly suffers from a fairly clear and yellow body. There is a bit of clouding, but I usually expect a bit more from a wit.

Smell: I'm catching come orange and citrus and the barest hints of cloves as well a a couple barely and wheat malt notes. Warming certainly helps the case, but it strikes me that this is probably going to be watered down.

Taste: Well, I hit the nail on the head there as this beer is spread pretty thin. It starts with a very watery light mixed malt that doesn't seem roasted at all and then turns to a light touch of citrus and wheat with a very minimal spice note.

Mouthfeel: Well the head was nice but it died at the half way mark, which is when the beer turned from sorta watery to way too watery. The aftertaste is a non-starter and while it's not bad, it's just too thin.

Drinkability: This is a summer day guzzler, and that's really it. It's far too watered down to serve any other purpose then that. Mind you it doesn't fail at this purpose and it's easy to get down, it's just lacking in the flavour department.

Final Thoughts: Another swing and a miss by Brick, but at least they are swinging and not bunting without anyone on base. It's pretty much a cheap white geared towards the macro crowd and another attempt to cash in on the financial success of Rickard's White. You'll want to pass.

A - Pours a pale straw colour with a thin layer of head with little retention and some sporadic lacing.

S - Surprisingly loaded with citrus, touch of wheat, but more reminiscent of a lemon/lime beer offering.

T - The lemon citrus hits off the top and lingers on the finish with a touch of bready malts and wheat flavours. Unfortunately, for the witbier style, it's not all that suitable.

M - A bit prickly going down, a tad thin and a little too dry on the finish.

D - If this were labeled as a lime beer offering, I would say that it was decent, however, as a witbier, this is a bit off the mark. The citrus flavours are too dominant, and traditional wit flavours are missing. All that being said, it's still pretty drinkable and wouldn't be too bad on a hot summer afternoon.

Cloudy gold with an inch of white foam that quickly fell to a thin layer of fine bubbles. Decent retention at that point. Smelled a little sour, lemons, bread, some banana. Orange peel in the flavour, along with a little coriander, slightly sweet and fruity. Lingering lemon bitterness. Coarse carbonation without being overly high, medium bodied, texture was alright. Nothing extraordinary here, but nothing offensive either.

Pours a rich and hazy light amber hue with about a finger and a half of creamy, tightly knit white head that displays decent retention and leaves strings of lace. A strong amount of carbonation is visible.

Hmm, the nose is quite odd. I get sickly sweet and syrupy notes of tangerines and banana popsicle with a metallic essence in the back. Notes of wheat and some faint coriander are detectable but hard to make out with the overly sweet banana and citrus notes demanding a lot of attention. It's different, I'll give it that but the least bit inviting.

This is a mess on the palate with very odd metallic notes sporatically appearing over a sugar soaked tangerine/banana essence. Wheaty in the finish with a bit of spice in the back.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a very poor balance. Watery most of the time with a decent amount of carbonation. The finish was the highlight of the beer and I'd say that was mediocre at best.

This is by far the strangest and the worst Witbier I've had to date. It seems like they just threw a bunch of ingredients together and hoped for the best. The metallic notes which were detectable both in the nose and taste are what really threw me off, even moreso than the ridiculously sweet, almost medicinal like notes of tangerine and banana. I'd take their Dark over this, and even that one was hard for me to put down.

One of several offerings from an old Canadian friend. Waterloo Wheat pours a cloudy canary yellow body with a large white head that rapidly falls to a collar. Aroma has some twangy wheat malt, lemon, and black pepper. Light medium body has an aggressive carbonation. Taste has a dominant wheat twang, with hints of coriander, black pepper, and lemon. Enjoyable as a summer thirst quencher.

Waterloo Wheat pours a hazy orange with a decent head that doesn't linger too long. Some vague corriander in the aroma, but mostly grainy wheat with hint of citrus. The flavor is crisp malted wheat upfront with a nice spicy yeast flavor going on. There is some tangy, almost sour flavor that lingers in the finish. Overall this is a pretty decent, refreshing wheat beer.

473ml can poured into a Weizen glass

A - Poured a hazy yellow with a 1.5" head. Decent lacing. Flakes of grains and yeast were visible at the bottom of my glass by the end.

S - Some fruity sweetness and some spiciness but overall the aroma is pretty mild.

T - Mild sweetness upfront, hint of citrus and a very light spicy flavor. Not much bitterness. It's not offensive but wheat beers can have much more flavor then this one.

M - Good carbonation but a it's little thin for a wheat beer.

D - I found it quite drinkable. I could easily session on this beer. I found this to be a decent beer but it's certainly lacking a bit of flavor for a Witbier.

Bland beer, not so drinkable unless you are very very thirsty. Pours a huge foaming head, that compresses over several minutes, straw coloured body. Neutral but clean smell. Very little and inoffensive taste. Thinish mouthfeel. A bit above average carbonation.

This looked a lot better on the pour than it tasted. It doesn't have any interesting notes and has a treacly aftertaste. Also some tinniness, probably from the fact it's in a can. I'd be curious to try this on draft (but not very). Not great as a wheat beer. Why bother making a wheat beer that has little to none of the qualities of the style? It's a half-assed attempt.

Pours hazy gold about an inches worth of fluyy white head. The head doesn't retain very well and doesn't leave any lacing behind. When I got to the bottom of the can, I swirled what was left around a bit, just in case there was any yeast on the bottom. It smells faintly of oranges and sweet honey. Faint oranges, and what the hell is this sweetness? A little bit of sour wheat and faint herbs in the finish. The biggest note in this beer is the honeyed sweetness. I really like sweet beers, and have enjoyed much sweeter ones than this. This is just wrong somehow. It seems very cloying and artificial. Carbonation is pretty low. The body is light but somewhat sticky? A little bit more spritz could probably help lift that sweetness a bit.

I would avoid this in favour of Mill St.'s offering, if looking for good witbier crafted in Ontario.

Clear straw with an inch of brittle white foam. Nose has some wheaty twang and a hint of lemon. Flavour is dry, and somewhat spicy with a chalky wheat. Seems to have some clove flavour as well. Very mild hopping. Sharp, spritzy carbonation and light body. Drinkable, but not too tasty. A bit watery and low in flavour.

Bottle- A slightly hazed yellow, pours a thick and foamy white cap. Nose is mostly all grains, slightly vegetal, some citrus. Tastes of sweet grains, only the slightest amount of cirtus, stale pale malts. Creamy finish. Train wreck. Also available in cans for those inclined.

This beer pours with a nice little head, but it's sitting on top of a straw-yellow body that I might mistake for a pale lager if it weren't for the slight cloudiness. The smell is virtually non-existent, but there is a tiny bit of wheat and citrus there. The first sip is straight up disappointment. The flavour starts off with cheap malt, followed by a hint of wheat and orange peel, then an aftertaste consisting of nothing mixed with cheap malt. The distinctive spice and yeast flavours one expects from a good wheat beer simply are not there. I might still drink the occasional Waterloo Dark but with the Pilsner gone and Waterloo Wheat coming up short, I think I'm done with Brick Brewing for a while.
