Five thousand pounds of raspberries were added to 70 barrels Star of the North, resulting in a 100 barrel batch, which was then fermented for an additional four months.

Poured from a 750 ml corked bottle into a tall New Glarus Signature Pilsner Glass. Bottled in October of 2013.
Appearance: Pours a deep and somewhat hazy reddish pink with a lot of rising bubbles. About two fingers of pink head that quickly fade into a thin patchy layer. Lacing is light.
Smell: A tart, juicy, and very funky and yeasty wheat aroma with lots of raspberry scent. Big upfront scent of raspberries. Wheat and pale malt with hints of biscuit, yeast, straw, and cracker. Scent of Brett giving a tart cherry like presence. Funky cheese like scent from the bacteria. The raspberries and funk stand out and play off each other well. A pretty interesting and good aroma.
Taste: Like the aroma hints at, a very juicy, tart, and funky wheat taste with a big helping of raspberries. Sweet upfront taste of the raspberries stands out. Wheat and malt with notes of yeast, biscuit, straw, and cracker. Strong taste of funk from the bacteria that reminds me of Belgian cheese. Some Brett as well giving some notes of tart cherry. The sweet raspberries and funk balance each other well. A pretty good taste.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Crisp and fairly creamy. Tart and very juicy. Sweet but finishes fairly dry.
Overall: A very good take on a Berliner Weiss. The big funk presence is balanced nicely by the sweet raspberries. Another great example of a good tasting low ABV brew.

750 mL bottle. Red body with a fleeting white head. Smells of acidic raspberry and some wheat. Tastes of wheat up front followed by lemon tartness. Raspberry flavor starts off slightly sweet and jammy before becoming quite tart, but only for a brief moment. Finishes grainy. Medium body and well carbonated. Tasty berliner, very fruit forward, but not so much so that the beer is lost.

On tap. Poured a clear reddish color with a small, pink head of foam. It smelled of tart raspberries, wheat and hints of lemon. Very nice tart raspberry flavor with a subtle wheat finish.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Label has bottling date as 'SEPT 2017',
Cloudy, pinkish red colored body, with short lived pinkish white head. No lacing.
Lemon and raspberries on the nose.
Tart, with a touch of sweetness, taste of lemonade with pronounced raspberry component.
Rather dry, medium mouth feel. Lower level of carbonation.
Very pleasant Berliner, with the semi-sweet raspberry addition. Cypress wood tanks add some barrel nose and flavor.

Vibrant Santa suit red with a thin blanket that manages to eek out some fine layers of lace on the glass, this has a good expression of sour raspberry with a bit of a lactic angle, but it's overall clean, and sort of like a popsicle with a crisp medium body and semi-wet finish.
