poured 750ml into teku. Bottled in Oct 2013.

A - Boom! As soon as I pulled the cork it geysered all over the counter top. I should have put it in the fridge for a few hours, but I am used to pulling beer from the cellar. Color is dark pink/red and had a nice 2 finger pink head. Thin collar and spots of lacing.

S - Fresh raspberry puree blended in a Berliner Weiss. Not too much yogurt or cheese, but I get why others pick it up.

T - Strawberry fields forever, except raspberry. It is tart, but not overly, there is some sweetness. I can tell this was once a Berliner. Very good.

M - Light bodied and big carbonation makes for a fantastic mouthfeel.

O -Excellent take on a Framboise. Well done Schells!

Poured into snifter glass.

Appearance: Poured aggressively into glass, about a 1/2 inch pink head built up. It was pretty cool to look at with the fact the head being almost solid pink instead of the traditional white. The color of the beer was of ripen raspberries - an opaque dark red.

Smell: first smelled from the bottle and then from glass. On both occasions instantly picked up raspberry yogurt. It came with that lactic tartness that you smell in yogurt. Plus the aroma is intense; it makes you anticipate you will taste a whole lot of raspberries.

Taste: very very tart with a nice raspberry ting. A little bit of sweetness blended into the mix as well. The raspberries came in really sharp at the beginning but then became more distinctive toward the end with a dry finish. The aftertaste was like after eating raspberry yogurt, that lactic acid left behind in the mouth. Maybe the smell had me expecting more raspberries but overall it still tasted great!

Mouthfeel: very light bodied and a little thin. I think that's pretty much standard with a berliner weiss at low alcohol content. No complaint here. Outstanding.

Overall: this is a great beer, very glad I purchased this! I love the appearance, the smell, and the taste. The fact that I can enjoy this tasty beverage without a buzz is a huge bonus.

A. Ruby red in color. Stiff pour yielding 1/2 finger fizzy light pink head which dissipated quickly, very reminiscent of champagne. No lacing.

S. Tart Raspberries. Almost like Raspberry yogurt.

T. Follows the nose; a tart raspberry yogurt. I get some mineral qualities to the taste as well, similar to some wines.

M. Thin body (almost watery), high carbonation, and very dry.

O. After having Star of the North (the base beer for FDN), I had high hopes. Though this smells really good, the watery mouth feel is disappointing . All things considered, it is tasty but not something I would buy again at such a high price ($15).

750 mL bottle courtesy of ObiWanKushnobi pours a hazed red color with a minuscule white ring. No head whatsoever.

Nose is pureed raspberries to the utmost freshness. The raspberry aroma is awesome, though there is not much else here.

Taste shows more raspberry awesomeness, but lacks much else. The malt body is incredibly light, even for a 3.7% Berliner. I was hoping for some more bacterial influence. Pretty tasty brew overall though and the fresh raspberries are well integrated.

Bottled Oct. 13

Pours a brilliant red. Head that quickly recedes. Looks delicious.

Aroma of a tart funk is apparent upon opening the bottle. Smells fantastic.

Flavors are a bit more understated than I would like. Mild acidic tartness with a slight raspberry sweetness on the finish.

Light bodied and lower carb for the style.
