Notes/Commercial Description:
Originally brewed in 1984, Schell's Pils is a shining example of the true European Pilsner style beer. Brewed with 100 percent barley malt, where the Sterling Hop flavor is showcased. Its full hop characteristic and delicate aroma were developed in Pilsen, Bohemia around 1840. This style was widely copied by early American breweries. Over the years, however, it has been lost to the much lighter-bodied, low-hopped relatives we refer to as American "Premium Category" beer.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a Schell's mug.

This beer is a crystal-clear pale gold with a two-finger head from an aggressive pour that quickly compacts to some light foam on top of the beer and some spotty lacing down the glass.

The aroma is crackers and biscuits with a hint of a floral note.

This pils tastes great. Smooth malt with a taste of lightly crisped toast and a hit of lemon and pepper from the hops and a lingering mild bitterness that's quite nice.

Mouthfeel is thin and slightly sticky.

Overall, a fine and refreshing pilsner that goes down great. A "yellow" beer with lots of flavor.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass

Appearance: Pours a thick sudsy 3" white head that recedes very slowly with plenty of lacing. Color is pale straw with plenty of streaming carbonation.

Aroma: bready malts, yeast, some grass and bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: light bodied and frothy with a mostly dry finish.

Flavor: pungent earthy and grassy hops balanced with sweet lightly toasted barley.

Overall: well done pilsener, very much to style.

Pils pours a golden color with not much of a head. There is a nice crisp aroma with small hints of floral hops. The taste is very crisp and rich, with some noticeable hop flavors that leaves just a hint of bitterness. Good body, and very nice strong flavors. Overall its a nice strong pils, with a nice noticeable hop and bitterness.
