Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a weizen glass

Fills the glass with a lovely, clear golden brew with a proper dense and foamy head that leaves some light lacing.

The smell is lovely, banana and spice and everything nice.

This is a great tasting, refreshing beer. Banana and spice with a touch of hops and the underlying sweet malt.

The mouthfeel is outstanding! Smooth and creamy and luscious.

Overall, this is just a wonderfully crafted, easy drinking beer. The label says it is an experimental, all-barley Weiss "made with Weissbier yeast." I wish it was available all the time. A refreshing and easy drinking brew with flavor.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Weizen glass.

Appearance: Rich and clear golden copper with light off-white head. Since this doesn't flare up like an actual Weizen beer, my glass looks a little empty.

Smell: Caramel, banana, clove and spice.

Taste: Caramel, bread, banana and clove mostly. The finish adds in some spicy hops.

Feel: Medium bodied but a little low in carbonation. Fairly dry.

Overall: Without the wheat and lowered crispness, this comes across as a muted Dunkelweizen. Still good, glad I tried, but not a style I would seek out again, assuming I ever see one again.

Clear amber color with two fingers of head that slowly settled to a thick cap. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left down the glass. Odd that they chose to filter out the yeast in this weizen.

Semi strong aroma of cloves and bananas. The barley malt underlies the yeast esters and tells the drinker this is a different type of weizen.

The yeast esters dominate the flavor with plenty of clove and banana. The beer is missing the usual wheat twang and is instead replaced by a robust barley malt that gives hints of caramel and bread.

Feels heavy for a weizen and the carbonation is not that active. Maybe a little more life in the body and it would make this more enjoyable.

Interesting beer from the past. I think I would go back to wheat based weizens though since they seem more refreshing.

Largely clove aroma with just a hint of barley grain. Big white head caps a amber of brownish gold clear body. Clove in flavor too but also a grainier malt character. Really dries out quite a bit on the finish, but it is relatively short. A touch of tart, a bit of sweetness.
Nice soft body even with the prickly bubbles and relatively smooth too.
I like this but I can see why some may not.

12oz bottle out of a sampler pack.

Smell is banana, vanilla, cream, barnyard and some herbal shizz (lavender maybe). It's crisp on the tongue and wheat-ridden on the finish, mid swallow you can get some bubblegum and vanilla notes. Feel is on the light and clean side , but still has some cream to speak of. Low carbonation.

A good'n. Give me this in a 12-pack of cans, please.
