When held up to the light this dark amber, almost black beer shows a brilliantly clear deep ruby red color. It is topped by a frothy light brown head that disappears after a minute or so. The aroma is quite fruity with notes of figs and raisins as well as notes of alcohol and a finish of astringent roasted barley. The aroma is quite rich and enticing, the type of aroma I would expect to find on an imperial stout not a porter.
The taste is light up front, but followed by a rich roasted caramel not and a bit of chalkiness up front. I get sweet fruity notes of burnt raisins as well as some nice rich chocolate notes. This is a really nice malty porter, there is not much in the way of hop notes, just a mix of sweet and dark malt notes. While I really like the malt character this beer is a bit too thin to solely rest on it, there needs to be a bit more hops, or a thicker body to support and compliment the lush maltiness of this Porter.

Shared bottle at local tasting. 5.8% ABV. Black colour, moderate beige head. Malty aroma, notes of caramel and chocolate, mild roasty notes. The flavour has much the same elements as the aroma, but is a bit too sweet.

Look: Almost opaque, very deep red, with a white head.
Smell: Sweetness, coffee, some herbal notes
Taste: Bittersweet, coffee and dark chocolate with some earthy, planty notes. The aftertaste has that somewhat acidic taste of strong, French pressed coffee.
Feel: Light body, normal carbonation, creamy mouthfeel followed by a crisp refreshing feel.
Overall: Nice refreshing porter!

From Beergium. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 3. Really good example of a porter, with a smooth palate and chocolately flavors. Really drinkable

Poured from a 12oz bottle with a best by date of 5/29/18; into a pub glass.
Appearance- a dark cola brown with plenty of streams of bubbles that hold a thin beige head. Lacing is beautiful!
Smell- a very sweet and enticing combo of milk and dark chocolate!
Taste - there’s a very nice bitter flavor profile from the chocolate, a bit of coffee and a touch of hops!
Feel - medium body, good carbonated mouthfeel and very easy to drink, even at almost 7%!
Overall - this is a terrific porter that is underrated in my opinion. I rarely drink porters, so I realize I haven’t come across some of the best, however, this is wonderful in almost every category!
