Poured from a 12oz bottle into my ABC glass.
A: A deep amber, edging towards red, with a solid cream colored head that lingers for a few minutes and settles as a solid layer on top of the beer. Really nice lacing down the glass.
S: Mostly English hops in the nose, with a bit of malty sweetness. Definitely piquing my interest.
T: Nice slightly sweet, toasted malts up front with a finish of lots of English hops. Moderately bitter with lots of earthy and slightly spicy/piney notes. This is really brilliantly balanced.
M: Carbonation is relatively low, but the beer still feels substantial without being motor oil.
D: Balance is the name of the game here. For me, this is the ideal level of flavor and moderate alcohol for maximum quaffing potential.
My first beer from Left Hand, and based on this, I'll be trying to find others.
