APPEARANCE: Poured a light, slightly hazy yellow with a thin bubbly head. Fairly good retention covering about 40% of the glass.
SMELL: Mild orange-like nose.
TASTE: Wallop of citrus flavor attacks the tongue immediately. Hoppy, slightly bitter and tart on the back end. Leaves what seemed to me to be an apple taste on the tongue.
MOUTHFEEL: Fairly smooth with just a few tiny bubbles tickling the tongue on the way down the hatch.
OVERALL: Interesting beer. After detecting some unfamiliar flavors in the taste, maybe I should sit down with a full six-pack of this sometime and give it another try. Maybe I'll be able to focus more on how I feel about it rather than what it is. Of course, it is a pilsner and has many of the characteristics, but it almost seems as though it was a wild/sour pils.
