Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, bottled on 8/17/11. This pours a straw color with a nice white head which leaves a lacing. The smell is nice and crisp, some grass, a little hop smells some bread malts. The feel is media to light. The taste is similar to the smell, crisp, a little hop bite, some bread malts, but there is also a weird metallic taste.

Pours clear and golden, looks refreshing!

Smells sort of yeasty-hoppy, almost like a wheat beer.

The taste is bitter hoppyness with not much else going on.

Mouthfeel is typical with the bite from the hops.

Overall I'd say its a pretty average beer, certainly not bad, but nothing really stands out... Except maybe the bottle, heh.

Poured aggressively from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. Just like with the others from this sampler pack, there is a "Bottled On:" on the label that is blank, but I am assuming it's fresh from the distributor since this was not at my local outlet 2 days ago.

A: Pale straw yellow, very clear and nicely filtered. If I didn't know any better, I'd look at it in a glass and assume it was a macro adjunct lager. 1 finger of fluffy white head with very tight and tiny bubbles, very creamy and respectable in consistency. The head sticks around for a respectable length of time, leaving very little lacing.

S: It lost a lot of points here because I really couldn't smell anything from this beer. It literally has almost zero scent. I caught a very faint aroma of hops and that's about it.

T: This is a great tasting pilsner. It has a very simple flavor, not complex at all, starts off with a light citrusy hoppy pine that seems well balanced with a hint of malts. Strengthens up a bit on the finish with more of the same, leaving a bitter hoppy aftertaste that isn't overly piney.

M: I'm gonna go with medium bodied here, though it is a touch on the lighter side, it does have some body. Light carbonation goes down smooth and creamy.

O: This is a fantastic pilsner right here. Certainly very drinkable and certainly something I'd gladly drink again. I wish there was a little more on the nose, but overall I feel like this beer makes for a pretty solid experience. This would make a really good session beer.

A - A clear golden hue with a full inch of fluffy white head. Cool name and pic.

S - Typical German Pills I get some grassy herbal hops, pilsner malts that offer a touch of skunking, and a bit of bread and yeast.

T+M - Nothing to really call out this style I get hops then the malt then the sweet bready finish. I liked Avery's offering more.

M - Light but in a way refreshing.

Overall I like this brewery for other beers and this one is kind of a one trick horse.

Poured into a pint glass this brew has a nice golden color with a crisp white 1 finger head that quickly settled to a 1/4 finger cap. There was little to the aroma but nice bready and slightly yeasty notes, with maybe some light grassy hops. The taste was crisp and clean. Nice malty balance over some very earthy hops. Very clean and refreshing as a pilsener should be. The carbonation was medium with a lighter body. This is a good example of what a German Pils should be.

A-Pours a minimally hazy golden honey color. Head is nothing more than a lopsided patch of foam and bubbles. At one end there is foam then it dies down to nearly nothing. Strange head stains the glass quite well surprisingly.

S-First whiff brings a stunted earthy hop aroma. Pale malts and some noticeable yeast fragrances. Lighter honey sweetness comes out too.

T-Sweetness hits first. Then the yeast dances around in the middle. In the end, the beer finishes grassy and herbal via the hops. Pretty mellow flavor. But the almost medicinal hop flavor lingers for quite a while.

M-Light body and vibrating carbonation. Quite the standard Pilsener body and feel. Moderately bitter. Clean and crisp enough, but it doesn't strike me as very high in either adjective.

O/D-Its gotta be pretty hard to make a really memorable Pilsener. This one just sits in the mediocre range. Not bad, and I bet lovers of the style would enjoy it, but for me, the single I bought is more than enough. A modest beer.
