I enjoyed this at Brewhaus(Springfield,Il)with some friends. In dim lighting I could not tell this apart from my friends Blue Moon, that said this had a light golden glow with a tall light orange cap of dense foam that retained a respectable amount of time. This left tons of lace. The nose was citrus hops upfront with some light caramel malt on the end, very fresh and inviting. Pineapple is the first of many fruits to excite my pallet, followed by grapefuit and freh melon and cantaloupe. Not quite as hoppy as I had expected, but plenty hoppy enough to suit the style and my tastebuds. Some grainy malts presents it's self but is overtaken quickly by the fruity hops. The mouthfeel is pretty full even for a double, not really as creamy as I would have liked, more highly carbonated like. The finish is a little dry with lots of stickiness left behind. If I can forgive myself for paying 15 dollars for this for a moment, I have to say it is one of the most drinkable DIPA that I have had,and probably the best offering from Left Hand I have had thus far.

This is my first experience with Left Hand and it was a solid one but not anything worth pursuing. This offering pours a hazy copper amber color with a short lasting slightly off white head. The nose of this ale is subtle with notes of piney hops and malty sweet. The taste follows the nose with elements of Floral and some citrus hops. This is balanced by a generous amount of malt that supplies the sweetness needed to balance this ale.
