12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Look: Clear brass color, excellent lacing

Smell: Clean, deep maltiness, faint taffy, loaf of bread, peppery, faint whiff of alcohol

Taste: Super clean, lots of bready tones, crust and toast, noticeable hop bitterness, herbal flavor, mild spice, nutty graininess, drying and still very clean aftertaste

Superb, one of the best of its style. Great job guys!!

Beer review from BA Mag Oct 2007.

While many beer geeks dream of one day going to Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest, many others have come to appreciate locally brewed Oktoberfest beer right in their back yard. Left Hand uses both Munich and Pilsner Malt with German Magnum and Vanguard hops to achieve their autumnal offering.

The carbonation has no problem pushing up a sizable head, which seems to take forever to dissipate. Glowing orange-amber-color shows a stunning clarity. Big malt nose with aromas of toasted bread, grainy crackers and a hint of sweetness that lays up against an herbal hop. Creamy mouthfeel with a rolling crispness that comes off the top of the medium body. Quick breath of alcohol. Biscuity flavor all around, sticking to the palate. Very clean from top to bottom. Hop bitterness shows just enough to balance and leaves a bit of herbal flavor from middle to end. Finishes toasty sweet with a light lingering hop.

We sized this one up and it came through like a champ. Not only does it have the upper hand for freshness compared to its German counterparts, but it drops a complex but drinkable malt bomb on the taste buds. Worthy of a mass ja!

Pours a clear amber color with a tight, white head that leaves little bits of lacing.

Smells of toasted malt with some spiciness.

Tastes of the full, toasted malts with a supportive hoppiness. Malts lead off with notes of caramel, toffee, and toasted bread. Nutty flavors come through as well. Hops come add in some herbal and earthy spiciness. Finishes fairly clean with a light sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium-light with a slightly crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a nicely done Oktoberfest.

Clear deep golden color with ok head and lacing. Aroma of malt and bread. Taste is sweet malt and bread with possibly some toasted almond. Finish is pretty clean with a bit of bitterness from what I would guess is the hops. Pretty balanced brew !!

A: Deep and rich copper. Brilliant clarity. Slight head. Fades quick (4/5)

S: Toffee and treacle. Very alluring malt smell. Subtly spicy. Strong caramel. Some fruity bubblegum. I think this may have too much that takes away from simple maltiness. (3.75/5).

M: Superbly smooth and easy to drink. Medium bodied. Semi-dry finish. Light carbonation. Some alcohol on finish (4.75/5).

T: Nice and sweet upfront. Caramel, toffee, and something like apple florality. Herbal hop flavor mid. Nice toasted biscuit throughout. Tastes like fall. As good as American Marzens get imho. (4.25/5).
