Poured a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Coffee black with a thin mocha head.
Not much to the smell. Mainly malt with a hint of cream.
Taste is more interesting than the smell, very smooth. Starts off with malt which leads into slightly bitter coffee and quickly followed by a bit of cream to ease any bitterness. Nice and simple, but not all that interesting.
Mouthfeel is smooth and silky for a stout. Very drinkable, not heavy at all.
O, as advertised... a subdued stout. A calm brew for a session but nothing to pick off the shelf if you're looking for something interesting.
