Wow, such a beautiful pour. The lovely cascading effect is amazing out of the bottle. Settles into a rich looking black liquid with an incredibly creamy, thick foamy head. Color is strinkingly dark and deep. Only the brightest and most direct light genetrates this beer, glowing a deep brown-reddish hue. Such a looker. Smell is not strong, but present; sweet creamy coffee, some faint cocoa, roasty dark malts, even a bit of hop oil. Taste follows aromas, starts up sweeter and smooth, lots of milked latte and hot cocoa tastes. Really rich beer! Mouthfeel is the highlight, the nitrogen makes this a true desert beer. The beer is so thick and velvety smooth, while carbonation is muted.
One of the best stouts from Colorado and a treat to be proud of. The nitro bottle is pure beer innovation and changes their base milk stout into a whole new beer. Delicious, beautiful and so, so smooth.
