A: Dark. Black with a mocha head. Thin rings and sheets of foam cling to the glass as you drink it.
S: Chocolate, spicy hops, toasty grains
T: Smooth, decent balance but it leans a little toward the sweet side.
M: SO creamy and mouth filling. Rich, decadent, very satisfying. Paired really well with a rueben on marbled rye.
O: This is a really great beer. Admittedly not a terribly complex stout, but it more than makes up for that with pure satisfaction.
I remember back before I turned 21 and hadn't had much to drink other than swill and jungle juice at parties, people would tell me that Guiness was like a meal. I was so dissapointed when I finally had a Guiness. It was thin and watery and sour and kind of lame. This is what I imagined guiness would be like based on other people's description. Just good; nourishing for the body and soul.
