Chilled bottle poured into glass.
Appearance: Dark brown - allows some light to penetrate. No head, just a slight ring around the circumference of the glass.
Smell: Strong rush of maltiness, a slight chocolatey sweetness, with a touch of hoppiness.
Taste: Malty from front to back. Chocolate and sweet. Just as the smell, a touch of hops - but not a ton. I also find a slight sourness at the back of my tongue, but it doesn't really interfere with the overall sweetness. After warming to room temperature, the milk chocolate flavors really pop out at you.
Mouthfeel: I get a nice tingly feeling from the carbonation. Not overly bubbly - just the right amount of sting. Beer give you a smooth coating through your mouth, but it doesn't last, as the viscosity just isn't that thick. A little more watery than I prefer, but fitting for this type of beer. Excellent effect if you take a sip and swish it through your teeth a couple times. You get an uber-creamy froth that explodes with chocolate flavors!
Drinkability: Overall, an easy beer to drink. Refreshing to consume, though it might not be a great choice to relax with after a day of working outside in the heat! I could easily take on 2 or 3 of them before getting bored.
