12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass. Bottled on 11/03/09. No abv info is given.
A-Pours a very dark brown with a two finger sandy head. The head collapses slowly and results in some nice retention. Nice streaks of sticky lace are left.
S-It has a nice dark and roasty malt nose. There is plenty of coffee coming out and the lactose does add a milky aroma. There is also some sweet chcolate coming out.
T-It starts out with some sugary sweetness. The coffee flavor quickly comes next. The combined flavor reminds me of a cafe au lait with an extra scoop of sugar. There is noticeable chocolate and roasted notes come and go throughout each sip. I also get some earth/pine hop flavor as it warms.
M-Medium bodied, smooth, and well carbonated.
D-A really easy drinking milk stout. It looks like this one has a small enough abv level to be quite sessionable.
I always enjoy this beer. Would love to be able to have access to it in CA.
